Quickly joining the discord, I could here Corpse's voice come through my headset, "Hey Moons."
Adjusting the headset I grin, "Hi Corpse."

"I'm stoked you're gonna play today, also I sent you the crewlink for proximity."

"I'm happy to play again too, "I chuckle, slightly nervous, if I'm honest. "You gotta teach me how to do this crewlink, I'm lost bud."

He lets out a low chuckle, "I will, I will." He spends a couple of minutes helping me understand crewlink and testing it in a lobby of ourselves. I tried to make some jokes while he was explaining so that I don't feel so anxious, and I'm pretty sure Corpse picked up on it. "Hey you know you don't have to fill, you can wait till you're ready to stream yourself before going on any others."

"No, no, no, no, no I want to play. I'm just a bit nervous on what people in chat will say," I don't really get why I'm nervous, I want to get back into streaming, I just feel bad for leaving them.

"I promise, everyone's been waiting for you to come back. Plus, you can see this as just easing into streams you know? You won't be bombarded with questions straight away."

"Yeah that sounds good," I smile thankful for his reassurance. "Okay the code's in general chat when you're ready to join."
"Nice, nice, sounds good, I'll join soon. Gonna tweet it out real fast."

After switching my screen from twitter back to Among Us I enter the code and join the lobby. As my character hopped down from the sits of the ship I could hear a loud gasp.
"MOONY IS THAT YOU ?"
Rae was loud. Rightfully so I guess, I haven't played with anyone since I stopped streaming. "RAE," I tried to match her energy, "It's me, the best imposter ever !" Rae let out a loud laugh, "I've missed playing with you so much."

I smile and tell her I've missed playing too. There were a lot of 'hellos' and 'I've missed you' after that, but the voices all overlapped and I felt bad for not remembering everyones voice instantly. Looking over the lobby I read over everyones names.

Corpse, Rae, Sykkuno, Toast, Poki, Brooke, Ludwig, Jack (Spedicy), and Karl. I know everyone except for Karl. I tried racking my brain I try to figure out who he's played with or what I would know him from, but I couldn't figure it out.

Not thinking much of it, theres always a first time playing with someone, I go over to switch my color. Choosing my normal yellow astronaut suit and safari hat, I talk to nearly everyone, now able to understand who's who and what everyone is saying. Karl never said anything but I'm sure we'll talk in-game. It was mainly just 'welcome backs' and 'happy to play with you again' but it was nice. I realized how many people I actually didn't talk to for so long.

Sykkuno, who had stayed silent while everyone greeted me, spoke up "Moons, I'll show you how to play proximity ! Stick with me first round."

"Yeah, that sounds good Sy !"

Ludwig jokingly lets out a groan, "Playing proximity with two Sykkunos ? We'll never be able to figure out who's imposter." Despite the fact I didn't fully understand the joke I lightly laughed aloud with everyone else. Hearing all of my friends laugh together again was nice, but there was one that I hadn't heard before. That has to be Karl, I thought to myself.

The screen went dark and after a few seconds the crewmate screen faded in. Although I pride myself on being a good imposter, I was relieved my first game back was as a crewmate.
"Poki, Moons, come with me," Sykkuno called to us when we finally got in. Moving my little crewmate to follow him, we followed as he walked us down out of dropship. "Why me, you could troll anybody else," Poki playfully complained as we walked left and up the left reactor bridge. Laughing, Sykkuno answered, "You're just a good example, I need to teach Moon how to play."

Sykkuno then went on to playfully threaten Poki, saying he's imposter and walking up and down on the vent to pretend he was venting. It was hard to keep a straight face as Poki played along, running in a small circle and yelping. Once all of our laughter began to die down, Sykkuno spoke up,"Give it a try Moon."

"Okay, okay, I've got this," I murmured into the mic.
"Hey Poki." She let out a slight giggle, "Hi Moon, didn't expect to see you by the left reactor vent."
"Yup, walking. By the vent," I wasn't very prepared but I decided to just go for whatever I thought up. "Listen," turning my tone more serious, "I know it's my first time playing with you in forever, but imagine getting the honor of being my first among us kill in two months." Making the end of my sentence more thrilling by upping my voice.
Poki let out an elongated no and began to run around in a circle again. "Don't do it, please don't do it," Poki (fake) cries out. "I'm sorry Poki, I have to do this," moving my mouse, I run my character towards her, "pewpewpew." All of our characters go still and there was a short moment of silence.

Loud laughter erupts between the three of us. "Wh- what was that," Sykkuno asks through his laughter. "That was my gun Sykkuno," I claimed while grinning, "think my bullet may have missed, I don't have the best aim."

Calming myself down, I told them I was gonna go wander around. "Yup, gonna go look for more victims- i mean friends to talk too." We all walked out and went our separate ways. Waddling my character across the map I make my way to the med-bay room. I didn't pass by anyone and didn't see anyone in lab when I entered. After doing my telescope task, I walk over towards med-scan and a purple body walks up from decontamination, despite the fact I didn't see the doors open.

hello !! sorry if this chapter seemed boring or anything but i wanted to 'set the scene' ?? if that makes sense 🙃 like show how moon acts with others and build her character
ALSO i have no idea how the proximity chat works so sorry if i wrote it wrong in the beginning :/
p.s. this 'game' is going to be continued on the next chapter !! (karls actually gonna be in the next chapter 😱😱)
