ABTW, The Airport between the worlds

I needed a few seconds to remember everything. How I read the letter, how I betrayed my best friend, how I entered the portal hoping to get a better life.

When I stepped out of that blue blur, I woke up in an airport. And it was a huge one. The portal quietly closed behind me. The room that I arrived in was really big, half of it with chairs where other kids were putting their bags on, stores, food courts, and everywhere new portals were opening for other people that were jumping out of them. Some of the teenagers that were appearing  in the airport were really confident and were carrying luggages with them, but other ones seemed to have no idea on what was going on and didn't have anything with them besides the letter, just like me. We could've got to the other half through some small revolving gates. It  was full of bands that where separating the people that were standing in line, waiting for their turn to some places where the employee there seemed to verify a paper of theirs. Once they allowed them to pass, the teens where disappearing through doors that were taking them to another room .

'Fuck', I thought when I realized that I had no idea what to do next.

'Umm..? Can someone help me?' I said out loud, but nobody payed attention.

        'Hello? Somebody?! Please?...'

'Hellooo, black  hair!' somebody yelled behind me.

I jumped back giving a short scream. The girl that just talked had two inhuman long, blonde ponytails, one on each side of her head, tided up with two pink elastics. Her t-shirt and leggings were also pink, and she was licking a lollipop. She was as tall as me, and her eyes were big and blue, just like the portal that brought me there. Quiet a weird appearance.

'Whaaaat do we have here? A new one! Haaaahaaa.. Let's. Be. Friends.Heh.'

She was constantly changing her voice in silly ways while she was talking, and she kept interrupting her sentence to chuckle. Her voice was really strident, which was REALLY, TRULY annoying. Back then, I had no idea what a nightmare this girls was going to be.

   'Who-...who ARE you?!'

  'Huh? Me?' the girl responded.

'Of course you, moron'  ,  I thought.

'Yes, you. My name is Joanne Lee.'

'Jo-Joanne? Jooaaanne... what a funny name, right?'

I clenched my fists. I was starting to feel really, really angry. But I tried to control myself and I slowly breathed in.

'Can you tell me your name and what do I do here? What is this place?' I asked through my teeth.

'I'm Patty. Patty Pammella. And W-WELCOME TO THE AIRPORT BETWEEN THE WORLDS!'

She said it like it was a gorgeous place, but I had no idea what she was talking about. She looked like she was waiting for an amazed reaction, but I quietly continued to look at her with that half-assed expression that you have when you feel out of context, making her understand that I need something more than that.

'When you got the letter, right, you were told that you were going to, hih, to an Academy. An Order, right. Right? Well you don't just TELEPORT to it, you gotta take a plane to it. I mean, they can't  just allow everybody to enter the school. Do you know what they do with impostors? With students and adults that shouldn't be there?'

Patty was getting more and more annoying while she was talking, but since she was my only source of information, I had to tolerate her.
