Chapter 5
I woke up with Taeyong in my side. I wasn't surprised, I probably passed out after the meeting last night, and he took me inside his room instead. I was feeling his comfortable embrace and bed. I saw that his favorite bunny was almost falling because of my space in his bed. His arms might hurt if I use it as a pillow so I moved it to his side and he fluttered his eyes open.
"Good morning, beau." He said with his hot breath tickling the tip of my nose. I looked into his slightly sleepy figure, smiling when his forehead crease because he's trying to stay awake.
I held up his hands, "You can sleep, the event is later."
He shrugged and continued to snuggle me into his embrace. It was comforting and the first time I've felt at home. Just like every other fairytale, we're uncertain when this will continue or end. I know ever since we were young, Taeyong doesn't like me. He was supposed to marry me but Jisung saved me from a potentially miserable life.
I remember how his words used to hurt like a knife to the chest. Every time that he would say something about the said engagement when we were younger. If I had a choice, I wouldn't even like him the slightest but, as they say, the heart works differently from the mind.
I'm scared that this might be just another fleeting moment between us. I'm scared if this act we're putting is just for Doyoung.
I stood up quietly and went to my room, wearing nothing but his white shirt and sweatpants. It was early in the morning, I doubt someone would see me in his clothes.
And when I unlocked the door, I immediately spotted Doyoung at the end of the hallway. I coughed lightly to catch his attention.
"You're too early to piss me off, Park." He said, annoyed by my presence.
I chuckled lightly, "I could say the same, Kim."
His figure was evident through his white shirt and how it makes his hair brighter than it was. A cough and pair of eyes were on us while having our talk that may or may not filled up the whole room with tension.
"I'll just get water, Noona," Chenle said, still probably surprised at how we didn't kill each other yet.
I saw Doyoung trying to stand up but I quickly grabbed his wrist, "You need to come later."
"To what?" He asked.
"To the charity ball," I said and harshly dropped his wrist.
I went inside my room and quickly discarded Taeyong's clothes on me. I hated it. I hated how he cared when he shouldn't. It was utterly stupid of him to do that.
I looked in the mirror and saw the blonde dye in my sink. I took out my scissors and cut my hair above my shoulders. I dyed it and it was bright. Somehow a big change and was good. I shrugged at the thought of making it shorter or even adding something.
After I showered, I wore a black suit and a white shirt underneath. I wore heels and let my shoulder-length hair flow. I looked into the mirror and it looked like that it didn't mirror me. It wasn't Park Miyeong. It wasn't the cold mafia leader and the girl who was the most successful adult in Korea.
I walked out of the room and saw the guys in the living room. They looked like they saw a ghost out of the room. Some jaws were dropped and some were looking at me with wide eyes.
"Is it the first time you all saw a girl?" I snickered.
Kun chuckled and Yuta coughed lightly, "It's just the first time you didn't look like a monkey." Taeil oppa said.
I rolled my eyes and continued walking near the sofa where Jaehyun and Yuta were sitting. I fished out my phone and looked at the camera.
"Yah! Park Miyeong taking a selfie?" Johnny joked.
I glared at him and signaled him to run and he rocketed off immediately. They laughed and immediately shouted at Johnny.
"Yah, be fast, Miyeong's giving you a 15-second advantage!" Kun laughed.
