CHAPTER 5

Dead?

Months went by, I started to ignore everyone. Bryce is right. Wala na akong pake kung paniniwalaan nila yung issue na 'yon.

Halos araw-araw na rin kami nagkikita ni Bryce. Minsan nasa may gate lang s'ya ng school namin, naghihintay. As time passed by, lalo kong nakikilala si Bryce.

I noticed that he doesn't like guns. That's a little weird for a man. Noong dumaan kami sa peryahan, pabiro kong itinutok sa kaniya yung pellet gun, nakita ko agad na takot s'ya roon. Well, matatakot rin naman ako e, malay mo pumutok yung baril? Tsaka, ayaw nya rin pag umuulan. Lalo siyang nalulungkot, minsan natutulala. He's a very nice person, but sometimes, he's mysterious.

He likes strawberries. Kahit anong pagkain basta strawberry ang flavor. He loves cats as well as dogs.

I think I like him.

"Huy!" Pagkalbit ko sa braso niya habang siya'y naka-upong naghihintay sa bench. He's at it again. Natutulala na naman. Is something bothering him?

"Problema mo?" I asked. He looked at me.

"Ha? Walaa~" sabay kuha niya ng bag ko at tumayo.

Is it just me or did he looked like this before? Mamutla-mutla na siya ngayon. His skin, much whiter than before. His eyes seems more tired than usual.

I clung onto his arms. Yeah, something's not right. His body, much colder than before. I patiently waited until we arrived at the park.

He sat down and sighed.

"Is something going on?" I asked and waited for his reply. He looked at me with his confused face.

"What would you do...if the person you are talking to, isn't actually alive anymore?" He looked up at the clouds, with a desperate face.

I got chills down my spine! May third eye ba siya?! Why would he even think about that?! I got creeped out and punched him really hard!

"GAGO 'WAG GANON! ANG CREEPY NOON!" paghampas-hampas ko pa aa braso niya.

"HAHAHA! May nabasa lang kasi ako, gago! Nakikita noong babae yung lalaki, eh pota, 9 years na pa lang patay si kyah!" Hagalpak niya at ginulo ang buhok niya. Something feels off, but since he seems happy now, I shouldn't be bothered. Right?

"Ah, so mahilig ka rin magbasa?" I asked and sat beside him.

"Hmmm, hindi naman sa mahilig. I mean, depende sa topic. Nagustuhan ko lang kasi 'yon dahil parang, shet! Ang creepy." Sabi nya na tumindig pa ang balahibo niya.

Natahimik kaming dalawa. Napatingin ako sa kaniya. Tila parang ang dami ko pang kailangang malaman sa kaniya. He's a mysterious angel. For the mean time, I just want to enjoy the times I have him by my side.
