You slept for a couple of hours before waking up and realising you hadn't set an alarm for the morning. You looked at your phone and saw it read 1:23am. You clicked on the alarm icon and set an alarm for 5:30am. You placed your phone on your bedside table and went back to sleep. A couple more hours passed, and your alarm echoed through your room. It was 5:30am. You grabbed some workout clothes and put them on as well as a pair of trainers. You plugged your headphones into your phone before leaving your house.
You went on a run around your block before heading back to your house to get ready for school. You had a shower and then changed into your school uniform. You brushed you (H/L) (H/C) into your desired style. You headed for your kitchen and began making yourself some lunch for your first day. You picked up your phone and noticed it was 6:58am. You quickly finished making your lunch and left your house, beginning the walk to Nekoma High.
You knew the school started at 8am, but you wanted enough time to work out where you were going. You started walking down the nearest street before realising you don't actually know how to get to Nekoma. You had never really been to school often. Ice skating always used to get in the way of your school work. You knew people would find it hard to believe you were a second year, since you hadn't attended the school before. Living in Russia for 5 years meant you didn't have to worry about school work, since you were always at the ice rink.
"F/N? Is that you?" A familiar voice called out.
"Oh, Tetsurou hello. Thank goodness you saw me. I'm kind of lost." You reply.
"Oh F/N this is Kozume Kenma. He's my friend and a second year at the same school as me." Kuroo said.
"Oh, hello Kozume. I'm F/N. I'm going to be starting Nekoma today as a second year." You reply.
"Wait, you're a second year?" Kenma says.
"Yeah. This will hopefully be my first full year at school." You comment.
"Oh? How come only your first year at school?" Kenma asks.
"Oh I was home schooled." You say.
"Ah alright. So what class you in?" Kuroo asks.
You fished out your timetable from your pocket and showed Kuroo what class you were in. To your surprise, you were in the same class as Kenma. The three of you then walked onto the school campus and headed to your classrooms. Kuroo parted ways soon after since he was a third year and was in a different class. You stood outside your and began to have second thoughts. A wave of emotions overcame you. You were unsure if starting a new school was a good idea or not.
"Hey, what's wrong?" Kenma asks.
"Kozume, I don't think I'm ready to start school yet. Let alone walk into that classroom." You reply.
"I know that feeling all too well. You're nervous, aren't you?" Kenma asks, attempting to reassure you.
"Yeah. I guess so. It's odd though. I'm normally not the type to get nervous." You say, instantly regretting it.
"Oh... maybe because the setting is new? Where you were before you joined Nekoma?" Kenma asks curiously.
"Well, I came from Korea yesterday. I was originally staying in Russia and had been in Russia for 5 years. But I decided to go on holiday to Korea and then flew back here after. I was sad to leave Moscow. I enjoyed it there. And Korea too. But I was born here so had to return someday." You say, lying about the reason you went to Korea.
"Ah ok. I thought I heard sone Russian in your voice. Well, if you say you are a confident person, I think you'll do just fine in this class." Kenma says.
"Kozume, thank you. I think we should go in soon. Does a bell go or something?" You question.
"Youreally haven't been to school in a while, have you?" Kenma says, leading youinto the classroom.
The lessons went by so slowly. The teachers constantly calling you up to introduce yourself to the class. Luckily, Kenma was in all of your classes. When you had sat down for registration in the morning, you compared timetables. You noticed that fitness was the only class you didn't share with Kenma. Which you thought was understandable. You hoped the current curriculum included something along the lines of dance.
Soon after, lunch rolled around. You weren't really sure where to go for lunch, but a tall, bed-haired student burst through the door and dragged both you and Kenma somewhere to eat lunch. Kuroo finally let go of both of yours and Kenma's arms as you reached a staircase. You really had no idea where this third year was taking you. After ascending the staircase, you realised it led to the roof of the school.
"Why the roof of all places?" You eventually ask.
"Oh, this is where the volleyball team normally eats lunch. And since you're new here, I thought you'd like to eat lunch with us." Kuroo says.
"Oh, thank you." You reply.
Kuroo then introduced you to everyone on the volleyball team. And introduced himself as the captain. There was one person that intrigued you. Haiba Lev. He was a first year on the volleyball team. Lev had said that he was half Japanese and half Russian, yet he didn't know much Russian. You had to try your hardest to not burst out into laughter. He looked like the spitting image of Katsuki Yuuri and Nikiforov Viktor if the two were able to have a child.
You zoned out of the conversation the volleyball guys were talking about. You wanted to tell someone so badly that you met a guy who reminded you of two people that you knew. Making sure nobody was paying attention, you drew out your phone and began texting one of your close friends that you had made when you were away. You had spent so much time with him, even when you were in Russia. You loved watching him get scolded at training whenever you went to watch.
