"Patience, my lord, our goals will fall into our grasp, we need not snatch them like savages," Hux berated, a bit condescendingly if you were to ask Kylo.

You weren't and generally avoided getting in between the two petty men. It seemed as if the two spent more time together them you did with your own boyfriend, much to your chagrin. It annoyed Kylo that you were less than willing to take to his prideful defense, but you were not going to prepare yourself for the immense headache that was Hux's vindictive passive aggression.

A lot of things annoyed and irritated current ruler of the galaxy, most of which included the ginger man, unsurprisingly. That was what you were for. Joining him after running away from the former Jedi temple after Master Skywalker tried to murder him, you were the only link to his lonely past that he cared to keep. You loved him enough to leave your life behind just to be by his side and he considered it the truest form of loyal sacrifice and fidelity.

Kylo wished his most loyal girlfriend would tell the ginger bastard to fuck off. You stayed silent, inwardly smiling as the two traded thinly-veiled and childish insults. You made sure to never express much emotion through your face around anyone besides your lover.

"Of course, Hux, the majority of my precious time should absolutely be spent upon catering to your little whims," Kylo responded scathingly, chin in hand.

"Your woman would know enough about your little whims that she'd be plenty help all on her own," Hux retorted, smirking.

Something dark flashed in Kylo's already dark brown eyes. He quickly swept up from the throne he was seated in and stepped to Hux threateningly. You quickly shot up after him and grabbed his arm, worried the state of Kylo's army if he murdered his own general, hated nuisance or not. And you knew that there was little doubt that Kylo would kill Hux if he had the chance.

"Leave us, Hux. Such a proficient general as yourself should have no problem dealing with any menial task on your own. Or are you saying that you've outlived your usefulness?" You kept your voice monotone and emotionless despite your scathing words. You didn't twitch a muscle and kept your face rather bored.

Hux huffed, looking you up and down briefly before turning on his heel and briskly walking away. The slamming of the throne room's doors echoed throughout the large chamber and settled into deafening silence.

Kylo relaxed into his throne, slumping and looking very much the young man he was. You gazed at him appraisingly. You didn't say anything because you knew he would want to speak first.

"We could've been alone already had you done that earlier," he sighed, pouting at you cutely. You were the only one he acted like this with. You didn't let the big eyes fool you, though.

"I couldn't have, actually. Unlike you, my love, I am in no real position of power. The only reason Lord Palpatine has not disposed of me yet is because you requested it. As well as me being the only one to keep you in check," you explained, again. You two had this discussion every time Hux angered him enough for you to step in. Though Kylo was the Emperor and highest position of power, Palpatine's consciousness was still kicking, though just as Kylo's advisor these days. He still had the barest authority to get rid of you if Kylo, and yourself, weren't careful enough.

Kylo furrowed his eyebrows thoughtfully, his eyes cast upward. You wanted to smooth out the wrinkles with your thumb, but stayed as you were. You were practiced at being still in spite of wanting to fidget. As Empress, you had little to do with the affairs of the galaxy unless requested by Kylo or Hux. You weren't much for talking to anyone besides Kylo, anyway.
