It was a dead body.

It was of a girl, looking only around 10 years old.

I tried not to cry.

It was probably those monsters that got her.

Her guys where strung across the floor as she looked straight up at the ceiling.

I said a prayer for the poor girl and continued.

I came across another fort, slightly bigger than the others, like a motel room size.

It was really sturdy and had two beds.

I looked around and saw drawings with crayon of what looked to be from a child at the bottom of the wooden panel that was the wall.

I glanced over near the beds to see a heart carved into the wall above one.

H + K

I almost cried.

That was probably there kid I saw.

I had a strong feeling now that I should give up on leaving and try to make a shelter like the rest of whoever was here before me.

I sucked in a breath and started to close the door to this shelter I just found.

It was going to be temporary.

I don't think I'd want to be in a place where a probably dead family used to be.

I turned off the lights that where in the fort and sat on one of the beds. Looking at the ceiling of the fort.

I thought for a while.

I didn't want to leave until tomorrow. And I was still counting the hours till night.

The lights shut off suddenly making me jump slightly in my place.

I got under the sheets and curled up.

I felt like if I stayed quiet I would be safe.

I looked at my bag.

I would have to be really careful with my food, the meatballs and burger will go bad after tomorrow.

I've eaten day old burgers before so I know that I'm ok with that. Bananas will last a while if I don't bruise them.

I can't believe I'm in this situation.

Scratches could be heard on the walls of the fort, a high pitched voice saying,

'The store is now closed. Please exit the building.'

It sounded like a dog scratching at the door.

This scared me, but it soon lost interest and left.

I assumed it was one of those things but smaller I guess.

I let out a shaky sigh and closed my eyes.

The days last 15 hours.
