HELLO WOW, can you believe marigold is over? like entirely over over?
before we say goodbye, i just wanted to share some things about this story!
honestly, it was meant to be a standalone but quite early in the story i had this idea of tying all the members' stories together as i had already started introducing them and their jobs. the idea of an alchemilla series was quite last minute but i'm glad i decided to do it this way, oh my gosh i'm so excited for the stories to come.
this story was actually meant to be very angsty. i'm talking hoseok hating chris, chris genuinely wanting to buy hoseok's land, chris's ex coming back and ruining everyone's lives kinda angsty.
but when i decided to make this a series, i also reworked this plot a little and thought it would be better that it was on the lighter, softer side
another fact; the ex boyfriend doesn't have a name because he doesn't deserve one, really. he kinda represents the toxic thoughts chris has toward herself as well, her inability to see her for who she really is.
ideally i wanted hoseok to help her love herself but as i was writing this i've, as we all are, been on my own little journey of self discovery and self love. and i realised that we shouldn't be relying on other people to venture into our own self love.
loving ourselves come from within, we must start looking at our battle scars - not as failures - but as reminders of our strength. we lived through that. we carried ourselves through thick and thin, no one else did that. we did.
and when i came to that discovery, i realised that what chris needed hoseok to be wasn't someone who helped her love herself, or someone who filled up the void in her heart, he needed to be somoene who would stand right by her side and watch as she climbed onto that throne herself. he needed to be someone who loved her through all her flaws, took pride in all her achievements and mourned her miseries with her, but through all that, he had to stay right by her as she finally appreciated herself the way he appreciated her.
i'm not saying that's easy. heck, that's a destination i genuinely don't even see on the horizon for my own future, so please don't feel like i'm preaching to you. i just wanted to share that little part of chris that's actually a little part of me too :')
okay, back onto the other little facts about the story
there's also a super small tidbit that i don't think anyone has picked up on :') but i won't reveal that until the next story. i wonder if someone will realise it soon heheh
anyWAY are you ready for the next journey? because i definitely am
i've never written seokjin in a romantic sense before and i am so excited
