Chris stared at the blank wall in front of her, ears ringing from the last conversation she'd had with her father. He wanted her to increase revenue, expand the hotel, get more people coming in. But after solely working in urban hotels the past few years, she was at a loss of what to do.

Host a prominent celebrity's wedding? Hold a fashion show for a named brand?

It was all so different here; she wasn't too sure what else her hotel could have to offer.

"Good morning Chris!" a fake smile plastered on her face, Chris walked through the entrance to the hotel office, seeing her favourite co-worker sitting at the table ripping into a pack of chips.

"Nutritious breakfast you have there," the smile turned slightly genuine when he grinned at her.

"They're chicken flavoured," he informed her, "My daily dose of protein."

"Our head chef, everybody," she bellowed before sitting at the seat opposite him, "Good morning."

"How are you?"

"Been okay, found out that we have to refill soaps for the first two floors but have none stocked up? I'm furious that the floor managers didn't notify me earlier but," breathing out, she continued, "I'll stay calm."

"Chris," his voice grew serious, "I heard about our hotel back home."

"What about it?"

"That they're partnering with Ralph Lauren."

"They are?" she questioned, "Oh."

That had been something she'd been working toward for so long now, it was hard to hide her disappointment, but she tried, "Isn't that fantastic?"

"You've constantly been talking to me about that," he continued, "I know how excited you were to work on that project. I'm sorry, Chris."

"Hey," she met his gaze and offered a small smile, "It's okay, we're going to do so much here, remember?"

"Right," he pursed his lips, "So, have you thought of anything to do to get more engagement with our clients?"

"I had an idea," she muttered, looking down at her fingers again, "But I'm not too sure if it's a good one."

"Your ideas have never been bad. What is it?"

"I was thinking, maybe we can incorporate some of the small activities and businesses this town has to offer. Like maybe partner up with the council to be advised on fundraisers. Be in touch with the florists, bookstores, diners, and other small stores to give our customers the ability to experience a little more of the town than just the scenery."

"Chris, that's amazing! I love it," he clapped for her, "I really love it."

"You think?"

"Yes! So I think you have some fieldwork to do," he looked up at the clock, "And I've got to get to the kitchen."
