Silver's POV:

Having destroyed many of the local pokemon, Totodile and I head to the nearby town.

"If we end up in a battle with another trainer, you make sure they think you aren't Elm's pokemon by pounding them, okay?"

"Dile!" The water type nods, just before being knocked off my back due to someone running into me.

"Why you little... You again?!" I quickly glance back at Totodile, hoping that Gold wouldn't recognize him. "What are you doing here?"

"Trying to head back to the Professor's lab because someone stole a pokemon... Wait is that Elm's Totodile?"

"No he's not, I raised this guy myself." Totodile gets up and nuzzles my leg, as if helping with the lie.

"Then prove it in battle! If he's yours, you should know how he fights." There was an odd amount of determination in his eyes... Just enough to make that feeling return.

"I will destroy you!" Shrugging off the feeling, I pat my partner before sending him out to battle. Gold's Cyndiquil jumps down, sparks of fire already flying from his mouth. "Let's go Totodile, get in close and don't worry about his fire!" The water type charges in, dodging some of the Embers, then jumps over the fire type and spins around.

"NOW!" He shoots a Water Gun before charging in with Scratch, hitting the Cyndaquil before he has a chance to dodge it.

"Cyndiquil, get away from him and cover yourself!" Dark clouds pour out of the flames on his back, making it difficult to see the fire type, who fades into the smoke.

"Use your other senses and find him!" Slowly being surrounded by the clouds himself, Totodile stands completely still and waits. Suddenly there is an explosion of steam, and the two can be seen in the center. A few other trainers start to surround the scene, in awe at the battle going on.

"Run in circles around him and surround him with your attacks!" The fiery pokemon does just that, only to be hit by a final Water Gun. Gold looks at me in surprise as Cyndaquil falls. "I guess he is yours..."

I nod just before calling my partner back. "You did good..." I say this quietly to his pokeball to keep any of the nearby trainers from hearing me. "I feel like I should tell you the name of who beat you. My name is Silver, and I'm going to challenge and crush everyone until I'm the last one standing! Now get out of my way..." I walk past him, shoving him away from me before leaving the circle formed by the other trainers.

Just as I head out of town, I find a spot to let Totodile out. "I'm glad you helped me back there, here..." I take a few berries out of my pocket and hand them to the water type.

"Dile!" He smiles happily and quickly eats them.
