I felt like I was dying of heartbreak-- heartbreak I shouldn't even be experiencing because I've never even been in love before..... Or in a relationship, or anything that comes remotely close to romance.

Unless you can count the two dates with scumbag Cory, but he's not worth the tears. I'm too busy saving that for Ashton and his new girlfriend.

How can I see him so happy with someone while I'm slowly dying inside? I just prayed that this girl doesn't go to our school so I don't have to see them making out and being a couple in front of me.

"Maggie" My Mom said, knocking on my door and poking her head in, "can you watch Ben after school?"

"Why?"

She opened my bedroom door and poked her head in. She was changed out of her work clothes and into pajamas. I shot her a glare as she narrowed her pesky eyes on the pile of dirty clothes in the corner of my room.

"Daddy has a follow up appointment today after school"

This appointment had to be pretty important since she's asking me to babysit her youngest baby. That or she asked everyone else and they're busy so she's stuck with me. I can't even remember the last time I was asked to watch him.

"Is he going back to teaching?" I asked, excitedly.

My mom sighed, "we don't know for sure, so I don't want you to get your hopes up"

"Ok, ok"

"So, can you?"

"Yeah I can, sure"

A few months ago, my dad was on a skiing trip with some college buddies and busted up his knee pretty badly. He had to get emergency surgery on it which prevented him from returning back to work. He was one of the only science teachers at my school and since it was my senior year, I would've loved to have him teaching me one last time.

"When would he start?" I asked, "you know... once he gets the all clear"

"That's still in the works. Could be as early as next week or next September." She mumbled while rummaging through her purse, "we need to leave, are you ready?"

The entire drive to school I tried to make conversation with my mom but she wasn't in the mood to talk, so we sat in silence pretty much the entire drive. When we got to school, I quickly grabbed my stuff and headed towards my locker.

"Have you guys banged yet?" I heard someone shout from down the hall.

Looking up, I noticed that it was Mark and his lacrosse friends huddled around my locker, chatting with one another. It was extremely annoying that some of their lockers were right beside mine which meant they all had to be there.

"Not yet... this weekend guaranteed," Mark said with a giant grin on his face.

They were talking about my best friend like she's an object, and Mark was letting them. That's disgusting and as Amy's boyfriend, he should be defending her not going along with what they're saying. I wanted to say something but getting on their bad side is not a good idea and that's the last thing I need these days.

"Make sure you fuck her hard" Someone else chimed in.

As I opened my locker and grabbed my books, I glanced over at Mark and caught his eye. He shot me a side look before turning back to his group of friends.
