Chapter Ten: Morning Swims

You wake up hearing Riley's 4am alarm.

Why does he wake up this early?

Before you can manage a yawn, Riley's already out of bed and is brushing his teeth.

You like waking up early, but you didn't expect to be waking up this early, as you didn't get much sleep last night.

"Sorry, didn't mean to wake you!" He says after spitting out the mint toothpaste that was invading his mouth.

"The fuck, I'm tired!" You reply sitting up in your bed.

You probably have bed head but right now, you couldn't care less! You check your p/c/c phone, 4:06am.

"Ugh!" You groan, getting out of bed.

"So, what club are you in Y/n?" He asks.

"Oh uh- Photography club..." You stutter, embarrassed.

"Really! Me too! The other clubs sounded boring so yeah! I'm new here so today will be my first day going to the club room! Jordyn is also in that club!"

"Oh..." You say.

You get up and ready for the school day, putting on the tiny, uncomfortable skirt and your shirt, that shows a little too much cleavage.

You and Riley argue whether to watch 'Free! Iwatobi Swim Club', or 'Haikyuu', you end up winning the argument. You watch your pick of anime for 2 hours.

You look out the large window, you see the orange and pink sunrise.

You always loved sunrises and sunsets. They just felt so relaxing to look at. You yawn and get up off the couch that you and Riley share. Today's gonna be... Tiring...

You get up and grab your bag.

"Where ya going?" Riley asks, his eyes making contact with yours.

"Well i- uh- I'm gonna just visit a friend!" You say, making up the excuse.

"Oh okay! I guess I'll see you after school at the club!" He says, not knowing what's about to hit him.

You both say your goodbyes as you head out of the dorm room.

You feel the cold water hit your finger tips, going up your hands, then arms, until your whole body was buried deep in the water. You do six dolphin kicks then surface to the top of the water. You do your warm-up swim (400m fs,) then you do 200m medley x2 (50m butterfly, 50m backstroke, 50m breaststroke, 50m freestyle.)

As soon as you realized they had a pool, you knew you had to check it out!

When you were on your last 200m, you saw someone sitting on the side of the pool, their feet hanging in the cool water.

You reach the wall just as you finished your last 200m, you look up and see a familiar face.

Tamura.

"Like to swim eh?" He says smirking.

You then notice he's wearing nothing but some swimming shorts. He a strong guy, so you weren't suprised he has a mascular body.

"What are you doing here Tamura?" You ask annoyed that the blue haired boy was making eye contact with your different coloured eyes that you hated.

"I'm just coming for a swim geez." He says sliding into the lane next to you.

"Whatever, creep." You state rolling your eyes.

"Let's race." He says staring at you, waiting for your response.

"Fine, 100m butterfly!" You say smirking, knowing butterfly is the hardest stroke to learn, but you've mastered it as its your fastest style.

"K, one the red 60." He says gesturing to the clock.

You go a couple seconds before the 60, so that you push off the wall in time. Tamura goes a couple seconds late, giving you a head start. Tamura is around 1.5m behind you, giving you the lead. You touch the wall and do a turn. You touch the end wall first, turning around to see the blue themed teen struggling to keep going.

He finally touches the wall and you laugh, not noticing there being a figure, who's been watching you since you first came into the building. You look at the figure closely and realize its your roommate?

"Riley!?" You yell, giving Riley a fright.

"Oh- hey!" He said, acting as if he wasn't spying on you.

"What are you doing here?" You ask.

"Why didnt you just say you were going to the pool???" He asks, sounding hurt that you lied to him.

"Oh s-sorry..." You say blushing in embarrassment.

"Tamura, this is Riley, my roommate! Riley, this is Tamura, he's from the yar- photography club!" You say

The two greet each other, until Tamura looks at you with excitement after Riley says how he and his twin joined the photography club, Tamura looking 2x as excited when he hears that Jordyn's a girl, his expression turning back to his normal one as you smack the back of his head with force.

"Ow!" He says as he rubs his head.

"Riley, why don't you come for a swim?" You ask.

"I- uh- I well- I don't k-know how to s-s-swim..." He says, almost like he was making an excuse.

"Oh, okay! I'm getting out now, its almost time for class!" You say climbing out of the 2.5m deep pool.
