I looked around the junk yard, there were broken cars and pieces of trash everywhere. Gawd knows what dad has planned for today.

The whole of Cobra Kai watched as Dad paced around on top of a bus. Apparently this is necessary if we're going to win the All Valley.

"You've trained hard, you've gotten stronger, tougher, faster. You've done your best. You're ready for this tournament, am I right?" Dad asked loudly.

"Yes, Sensei" Everyone chanted, I stayed silent. There's no way that's all Dad has to say, there's more.

"Wrong!" He yelled and I sighed, I knew it. He threw his beer can down at us in frustration.
"You're best ain't shit. If you wanna win the All Valley Under-18 Karate Tournament, you gotta give me better then your best. Which is why from now on, you're gonna get my worst. Do you understand?"

"Yes, Sensei!" We called back enthusiastically, everyone's really exited for the tournament especially dad. I think this is his way for making up for what happened with LaRusso.

"Are you losers?"

"No, Sensei!"

"Are you nerds?"

"No, Sensei!"

"Are you sure?"

"No, Sensei!"

I laughed at the response, Miguel smiled at me while Dad facepalmed. Dad still doesn't know about Miguel and I, to him, we're just friends. I've managed to scared people that know about us into staying quiet.

Before I knew it Dad was making us do some weird obstacle course, we had to run through tires and listen to his incisive yells.

I was so close to telling him to stop screaming when I caught my foot on a tire. I stumbled and almost fell but someone grabbed my waist, I turned around and saw Miguel.

"Are you ok?" He asked, his eyebrows were furrowed in concern.

"Yea, I'm fine. Thanks" I smiled, it was a sweet moment until dad screamed,
"What are you two doing? Go go go!"

The next thing we had to do was smash stuff, I held a baseball bat as my weapon of choice. Miguel, Aisha, Hawk and I took an area and began to destroy everything. It was fun.

Next up was tightrope walking, except we weren't walking on a tightrope, we were on a plank of wood. And instead of over a net we were over a lot of sharp metal and broken glass.

Miguel volunteered to go first. I trust my dad and all but I was terrified for myself and my friends. Luckily the worst thing that happened was when someone almost fell, they regain their balance quickly.

Lastly, or so dad said, we were handed a piece of beef jerky each.
"If you wanna win, you gotta be hungry. You guys hungry?" Dad asked, everyone said the usual, yes, sensei.

"Good" Dad said taking a bite of the meat, "Cause so are they". With that, he blew on a whistle and a bunch of vicious looking dogs ran at us.

Everyone screamed loudly and ran in different directions, Miguel and I ran but it seemed the only way to get away from them would be to climb.

Miguel got himself up onto an old school bus with a pretty awesome jump. My heart was pounding and adrenaline rushed through my body. He reached his hand down the helped me up beside him.

The dog missed me by an inch, I collapsed against him in relief and let out a laugh.
"That was scary" I admitted just as someone screamed, sounds like the dogs got somebody.

"That was terrifying, but don't tell sensei I said that" he muttered in agreement, taking my hand. Dad was standing on a car yelling at people, he was a long way away.

I kissed his cheek, "I won't tell if you don't"

"Deal"

"Why are we the only ones here?" Miguel asked, we were standing outside the dojo on Dad's orders. He texted me to bring Miguel here but it's locked.

"No clue, you don't think..."

"No. There's no way" Miguel said certainly but he looked nervous. I know we're thinking the same thing, does dad know we're dating?

Dad approached us, he didn't look mad. Actually he looked pretty happy. He let us into the dojo without a word and begun training.

All was going well in our weird, private training session until Sam called me. Her name and face flashed up on the screen.

Dad studied the phone and his eyes widened, I winced and waited for the blow. What have I done, I'm going to have to sit through him telling his story about Daniel LaRusso again. For like the hundredth time.

"Is that LaRusso's kid?" He asked me in shock.

"If I said no, would you believe me?"

Miguel looked between us in confusion, "Wait, how do you know Samantha?"

"I can't believe you're friends with a LaRusso, their the enemies" Dad said, looking at me in betrayal. I rolled my eyes and text Sam, saying I would call her back.

"Why is that a bad thing?"

Dad looked at Miguel who looked like he regretted the question.
"It was the summer of 82'..." he started dramatically.

"Here we go again"

And we are done another chapter, yay. This is a little short but I thought that might be a good place to end.

I made a few tiny changes throughout the story like adding these: ꧁𓆙꧂ with little snakes in them. I thought they were cute.🤼‍♂️
