Miguel squeezed my hand as we walked down the hall towards chemistry. I was telling him about what happened the night before, with the whole 'burning car' situation.

"I heard stuff outside but I didn't know it was anything like that. Holy shit, Grace, are you ok?" He asked in concern. I couldn't help but smile at how worried he was getting.

"I'm fine, a bit freaked though" I responded, I saw Sam walking with a few of her friends and kept my head down. I know what happened was in no way her fault but something in the back of my head is telling me I should be angry with her.

I took my seat beside Aisha in chemistry while Miguel went to sit with Demetri. We had a stupid practice test today and I wanted to do good but wasn't too worked up over it.

"So, things are still going well with you and Miguel?" Aisha whispered to me once we were both down a waited for everyone else to finish.

I glanced back at him, he noticed me and smiled causing Demetri to roll his eyes for some reason.

"I'll take that as a yes" Aisha said we both laughed quietly. Things were going well with Miguel, he told me that his mom wasn't going to tell my dad anything which is very reassuring. We're also going to the movies tonight, one of our only nights that's training free.

Once we handed up the tests it was time for lunch. It was a really nice day so we sat outside instead of in the cafeteria.

Sometimes I'll sit with Sam at lunch but most of the time I join Miguel at the Cobra Kai table. I'm still feeling weird about Sam, I guess this is what happens when you befriend the daughter of your dad's mortal enemy.

I sat between Miguel and Demetri on a bench near the soccer field. Aisha sat on the far left and Hawk was standing behind us, beating the shit out of some kid.

Hawk is cool and really fun but he's pretty intense. He's really aggressive and takes 'Strike First. Strike Hard. No Mercy.' a little too seriously.

"Oh! That little bitch" Aisha exclaimed suddenly, interrupting my conversation with Demetri. He was explaining one of his comics to me and I was very confused.

"What?" Miguel asked as Hawk came over and leaned on the back of the bench to look over her shoulder. Aisha showed us her phone, her Instagram was on the screen.

"You know that video I posted of me breaking that board?" She asked, she was mad. I could basically see the smoke coming out of her ears. All of us nodded to show that we knew what she was talking about.

"Look what Yasmine commented" I leaned closer to Miguel to see the comment Aisha was talking about. It read,
'Impressive... can't believe the belt made it around ur waist'.

"Oh shit" I cursed in surprise, that's a new level of low, even for Yasmine.

"I gotta do something" Aisha said furiously, I nodded as she shut off her phone. I noticed that I was still leaning close to Miguel and sat back. Miguel absentmindedly took my hand and intertwined our fingers causing me to smile to myself.

"How about we kidnap her and have my boy Rico tattoo 'bitch' on her face?" Hawk suggested. Did I mention he was intense?

"Calm down, Hawk" Demetri scoffed, Hawk scowled at his friend.

"All right, I hear how you're saying it, and I don't like it!" Hawk snarled. Demetri rolled his eyes and looked away, clearly irritated. I'm sure the boys would have continued arguing but Aisha stopped them.

"Wait, wait, wait. I've got a better idea. Look" she showed us Yasmine's Instagram story. It was a reminder for her birthday party tonight. Aisha got an evil smile on her face.

"Yasmine's throwing a birthday party at the Canyon later?" Miguel asked in confusion. Aisha looked at him and her smile grew bigger and scarier.

"Not if we strike first"

"You came" Robby stated in surprise, as if he didn't think I would. I laugh a little and nodded,
"You thought I wouldn't?"

"I had my doubts" he shrugged, we were meeting at the mall as it's on common ground. Jesus, I'm in a literal war, aren't I? Well, I don't like going to Robby's place because that's where his friends hang out. He doesn't like coming to my place for fear of dad.

We were walking around with no particular goal. Somehow we got to the topic of the dreaded Christmas party. Something I'm on the fence about talking about.

"Thanks for everything that night" I told him seriously. I was so thankful that he was there. Robby nodded with a smile.

"Can't let anything happened to my little sister" he claimed, I scoffed at him.
"I'm barely six months younger then you"

"Whatever. So who was the guy that you ran at?"

"What?"

"The dude that you jumped into the arms of, once he was in sight?" He asked in a mocking tone. I felt my cheeks heat up once I realized what he was talking about.

"I didn't jump into his arms" I answered quickly. I tried to remember the night and I'm certain I didn't jump at Miguel. I might have held his hand a little bit...

"Uh, ya, you did. He was all like 'Grace!' and you were like 'Oh, random guy'."

"He's not a random guy, his name is Miguel" I shot at my brother. He raised his eyebrows at me and I rolled my eyes.

"Miguel" he mocked with air quotes, I shouldered him with a look that was half way between a grin and a scowl.

"Well, well, well" a voice said from behind us, Robby's eyes widened and we both whipped around. I saw two boys standing there, they were smirking at us,
"Look who it is"

They stepped closer to us and I unconsciously got into a fighting stance. I noticed Robbie do the same beside me. They were holding a pink wallet that said Queen, which I'm willing to bet isn't theirs.

"Robby seems to have gotten himself a friend" the second guy teased, "Nowhere to go now". We had wandered outside when the mall got too busy which in hindsight was really dumb.

"Too bad we'll have to kick both your asses" the first guy told us. Robby's a strong fighter but as far as I know, he has no technique or anything.

The two guys came running at us, I grabbed the dude's fist and twisted it before sweeping his legs and placing a kick to his chest. He was temporarily stunned, I noticed Robby fighting. He was doing karate, weird karate but karate all the same.

The guy on the ground started getting up and I kicked him again, he hit his head and groaned in pain but didn't try to get up again. The only reason that fight was so easy was because he didn't think I'd be able to fight.

A few seconds later the guy Robby was fighting joined his friend on the pavement. Neither of them were unconscious, just in pain and they might have mild concussions...

"Leave me the hell alone" Robby spat at them, he beckoned me to follow as he walked away. I threw a look at the boys and went after him.

"Well, no one can say we didn't have a good day"

When I'm reading a story I never read these notes so I'm not sure if other people do. Anyway remember to put suggestions in the comments.🤼‍♂️
