Chapter 5- Mona

"What!" I screamed at Melissa loudly. I was unable to believe what she was telling me. This was big! Extremely big! "How could you tell me this now!? Melvin is one of the most hot looking guys in our school!"

"How should I have known that?"She screamed confused.

"How should I have known that?" I mocked her. "we'll you should've told me right when you guys started to even talk! You said you've known each other for weeks now!"I gave out a pout. "you could've told me earlier. I'm mad." I said folding my ams.

"we'll I can't do anything to change it now." she said placing her hands on her hips. She looked at the ground then she looked back up at me, our eyes locking. Her eyes suddenly enlarged. "I can't believe he asked me out!" she squealed out of nowhere. "I mean I never would get a guy like that." I stared at her, protesting whether I should warn her about him or not. I mean I'm happy that she's got a guy, but I don't want her to cling onto him and then he dumps her. Then we get sad Melissa again.

"hey, but not to upset you though, but guys that are good looking are very snobby. Usually."

"He might just be doing that for a hook up. Not real stuff, you know." I warned her. I knew this stuff from my friends who have dated guys that were so hot, that the guy's themselves knew it---and they always acted stupid because they thought they were the hottest guy and they could control any girl with those charming looks.

"what! No! Melvin is nothing like that!" she fired at me. But then she turned around and looked at the ground. "or at least I think." she murmured. She snapped her head in my direction. "but I don't think he is though, I mean he's so innocent, he wouldn't hurt a girl. I mean but the way he asked me out was so cute! How can a guy like that be snobby! He is so sweet..." she continued and soon enough I just stopped listening. I knew she was trying to come up with all these reasons to just make her think that he wasn't that type of guy--but you never know.

I started fiddling with my fingers as i thought about Alex. It would be AWSOME if he liked me. But, bringing up the thought of Alex reminded me of dead girls. The vision I got at lunch with him the other day, it was just freaky.

Also, when we were at the mall, when our eyes locked I almost had a vision again! But, I didn't say anything. I just began to avoid his eyes. I don't think he knows about the visions. And I don't know if im crazy or just different maybe. But I'm sure he doesn't know about it, and he defiantly wasn't a murderer.

I started dreaming about Alex again. If he asked me out, would I be acting like Melissa right now? I snook a glance at her. She was still talking, and her eyes were lit up like lightbulbs--still wide too.

I silently chuckled. I probably would be even worse than Melissa. I would probably go running around in my neighborhood announcing to everyone that Alex liked me. Aaaaa, that would be great...

"Mona!?" I snapped my head up and looked at Melissa. I signaled for her to continue what she was saying. "I was asking you a question." she sighed. "were you even listening?" I placed my hand over my heart acting as if I was offended.

"of course I was Mels!" I lied. "except I kinda got distracted, cuz well this--" I searched for something in her house to use as a distraction. "this carpet is absolutely beautiful!"

"it's plain Mona." And she folded hands over her chest.

"oh." I scratched the back of my head. Melissa shook her head. "well, the purple is just divine!" i fluttered. "I'm sorry, but what was your question?" Melissa bit her lip.
