(YN's POV)

Bright led me down a bunch of hallways, and I felt the hairs on the back of my neck rise. I could hear screams, most of them cut off with a sickening snap or thud.

Bright must have noticed, because he stopped, and looked at me. "I know the sounds are unsettling here, but most of them are D-Class."

I felt like my stomach was eating itself, but I just nodded. Most?  I felt an unnerving tone make it's way down my spine, digging in it's icy claws.

I forced myself to keep walking at Bright's curious glance, and I felt something soft between my fingers.

I looked at my hand to see a yellow stress ball with a smiley face, dangerously crushed under my knuckles. I could feel his eyes on me again, and I resisted the urge to throw it at him.

Just stay calm and be quiet. This will be over quickly if you let it. I shuddered at the words 'be over', my mind flitting back to the screams I had heard just a moment before.

I shook my head, wishing that all of the unease that clouded my thoughts would go away. "9467?" Bright's voice broke into my thoughts, and I realized we had stopped.

The sign next to the door read SCP-096 OBJECT CLASS: EUCLID. "The only thing you need t do to survive this SCP is don't look at its face."

I nodded, and after going through the safety doors and such I stepped into an empty room with no windows. I saw a crying huddle in the corner and put my head down, staring at the bloodied floor.

I heard the sobbing pause, and then felt a gaze on me. I closed my eyes tight, and tried to make something that would help. I felt rough skin brush my arm, and froze.

I heard a small sound, kind of like a dog, and I slowly raised my hand, which held a paper bag. I punched two holes into the side of the bag, then held my hand farther out.

I felt the rough hand take the bag, then heard a crinkling sound. Gingerly, I looked up and saw that the creature had put the bag on it's head.

I smiled, and it gently patted my head. "Oh, you aren't so bad are you?" I could feel relief dancing in my heart, and I couldn't stop a small giggle from escaping my lips.

The creature let out a small trill, this time sounding less threatening and more- fragile

It reached towards my hand, and I gently opened my fingers to reveal the stress ball I had made. 096 gently took it, squishing it with a delighted sound.

I sat down on the cleanest part of the floor, and watched 096 play with the stress ball in delight.

I don't know how long passed, but after a while 096 calmed, sitting on the floor. I stood up and turned around, walking out of the room.

Bright looked slightly dazed, but took me back to 049 and 035 nonetheless. When we reached the containment, he stopped and looked at me.

"You are a smart kid, you know that?" Confused, I nodded, shuffling my feet. Bright stared at me for a moment longer, before opening the door and shooing me in.

049 and 035 were there in an instant, and I noticed that 035 had gotten a new host.

"(YN) are you alright? What did he take you to test on?" 035's nervous chatter drowned out my attempts to explain.

"Go lay on the operating tale, we need t make sure you aren't infected with anything." 049 reached to grab my arm, but I pulled away.

"Guys I'm okay! I got tested with 096, and all it did was look at me!" The relief they showed surprised me, and I was kind of touched.

"Did you look t his face?" 035's voice still held a hint of fear, but I shook my head. "I gave him a paper bag and he wore it."

049 nodded thoughtfully. "Shy is a sweet guy, he's just- sensitive." 035 patted my back, his words full of wistfulness.

"Wait- Shy?" 035 nodded. "You call us by our numbers, but we have more identity than that. My name is- well, we're just going to stick to 035. 049's name is Simon, and 096's is Shy."

I nodded, engrossed in my own questions. "Does everything here have a name? Or are you the only sentient ones?" I paused, thinking of 187.

"Is something the matter?" 049 came up, and 035 slung his arm across his shoulders. 049 gave him a glare but made no attempt to pull away.

"No, just thinking about someone." I forced my voice to stay light. 049 nodded, then his eyes lit up with rare mischief.

035 noticed, and he nodded eagerly. "What?" I glanced between them, puzzled. 049 gently shrugged 035 off, and clasped his hands together.

"You know, we could always breach."
