(YN's POV)

I blinked and went to rub my eyes, but pulled back, wincing. "Don't move," the man said lowly. I knew him, but my mind was too fuzzy to remember his name.

I could see 049 stiffen, and 187 reached to grab my hand, which she squeezed gently. She hadn't seen this coming. It made my blood run cold.

"Put your hands up! Now!" The man adjusted the gun to point at 035's head, and 049 stepped forward. The gun swerved to point at him.

"I said hands up!" 187 squeezed my hand again, before putting hers up. 049 took a step back but kept his hands at his sides. I struggled, trying to get out of 035's arms, but he held on gently.

"Stay still, " he muttered to me, his face a sour frown. I reluctantly nodded, letting my body fall a bit limp. It made me feel helpless, but there was nothing I could do.

The man narrowed his eyes and took a step forward. With a small sigh, 049 put his gloved hands up. My heart was thudding painfully in my ribs, and my breath was becoming slightly raspy.

The man lowered his gun slightly, eyes narrowing. "What's wrong with them?" His voice was gruff, showing no emotion. I grimaced.

"682." 049 said simply. "They need to be taken to the medical wing." 035 put in. The man paused, thinking about something. "...Fine. But I will escort you." 049 nodded and put his hands down. 187 did the same.

187 stayed by my side as we began to walk down the hallway, and I kept fazing in and out of consciousness. Every fearful thump of my heart felt like a punch in the ribs, and it was getting hard to stay awake.

"Don't worry (YN) we're almost to the elevator," 035 said, slightly adjusting his arms to get a better grip on me. It hurt like hell, but I nodded, before letting my head loll back. 187's kind eyes kept running across me, and a weak smile took hold of her lips.

"You'll be okay. There's nothing to be scared of." Her quiet promise made me feel better, but it was still hard not to be scared saying how breathing hurt. But I smiled back at her, struggling to not audibly gasp for air.

"Not long now," 049 muttered, and I heard a small beep before we all got into an elevator. I saw the man with the face contraption at the far wall, looking uncomfortable and stressed. I would've thought it funny if it wasn't for the situation we were in.

I let my eyes flutter closed, and took a deep breath. It was a stupid mistake, and I flinched, setting a stab of pain on my chest. My leg was throbbing dully, but 035 had a firm grip on me, so I couldn't cause any more pain.

"We're here," someone said, but I couldn't tell who. I was seeing spots, and my throat was going dry. I couldn't breathe... couldn't... focus...

"(YN) stay awake!" A hand on my face. A voice... I think. It was hazy-

"(YN)!"

And then I passed out. I don't know how long I was out. It just felt like an eternity, but then only a moment. Everything was just dark. The only thing I was sure about was that breathing was plain agony.

Every desperate gasp for life just made trying to seem even more pointless. I wasn't going to make it... 187 had been wrong...

"I'm sorry..."

And then I was gone.

Floating.

And I couldn't do anything about it. Even the powers I was cursed to have couldn't save me.

Useless.

I was useless.

(035's POV)

"(YN!)" 187 shouted, shaking the limp body in my arms. Fear was coursing through me, and I struggled to keep a hold of them.

"What happened?" Simon cried, running up and reaching out for them, before pulling his hand back. His eyes were full of desperate sadness. We were standing right outside of the elevator, with Dr. Cool standing a few feet away.

His expression was a mix of curiosity and concern. He looked like he wanted to step in, yet also study how we were acting. It made me sick. But I couldn't kill him just then.

"The medical bay. Now." I said, turning and walking to the door that Cool had opened. 187 and Simon were right behind me, with Cool in front. We speed-walked to the nearest bed, where I gently placed (YN).

"They have to be okay, that's what 187 said," Simon was muttering while pacing. 187 looked like she was about to break down in tears. Her hand was in (YN)'s, squeezing it desperately.

"They will be... I swear they will be. We just have to figure out what's wrong." I turned to Cool, a flood of anger suddenly forcing my face into a sour smile. "Get a doctor. Now." I said dangerously, stepping up to him.

I felt a hand on my shoulder and turned to see Simon. "Please," he said to Cool, who nodded and pulled out a radio. Simon then pulled me into a hug. I stumbled, and finally realized that my body was decaying. A lot.

"You need a new host," Simon muttered to me. I didn't want to agree but I had to. "What if I get put back in containment?" I whispered, my arms around his neck so  I didn't fall. Simon shook his head.

"I won't let them take you. I promise." I slowly nodded and took one last glance at (YN), before I was gone.

Cookie for you if you can figure out what happened to (YN). Here is a hint: it hurts. Lmao.

Anyway, point out any mistakes or don't, I don't really care.
