Erin's POV
"Quinn we will head out in an hour!" I yell up the stairs.
"Okay!" I hear his muffled reply.
I walk into the kitchen and start to make some pancakes for everyone. I feel arms wrap around my waist from behind. "How are you dear?" Trey asks me.
"I'm alive aren't I?" I say, turning slightly and giving him a peck on the cheek.
"Let's keep it that way," He says before going to make himself a coffee. "So what's your plans for today?"
"Well, I have to take Quinn to his friends house then I'm going to chemo," I tell him.
I see his hands ball up into fists. He hates me mentioning it. He doesn't want me going back into depression like last time.
"Do you want me to come with you?" I walk over and hug him from behind. "I'll be fine," I reassure him. I put my hands over his fists and he relaxes.
He turns and takes me into his arms, "I don't want to see you like that again, seeing you so weak was terrifying."
"I'm going to be okay, don't you forget that," I lean and kiss him. Our tongues dance together as our kiss gets more heated. "Babe, the pancakes are burning," Trey whispers.
"Shit!" I jump back and flip take the pancakes off the skillet, "pancakes!" I yell.
I hear thundering footsteps as everybody tries to get to the food first. Ebhann pushes Quinn out of the way and grabs two pancakes and walks away. Quinn takes five.
"Are you going to eat all those kid?" Trey asks Quinn.
"Yeah," he mumbles before going to sit at the dining room table.
I see Trevor walk over to Trey, he's not a morning person. Trey picks him up and just holds him while they have a quiet conversation.
Levi brings Jaye over and gets food for both of them, "thanks Erin," he says before sitting at the table with Quinn.
My phone beeps signaling a text message, I look over it and see Sherry, Johnny's mom, has ask me if I could bring Quinn over later than planned.
"Quinn I'm taking you to Johnny's an hour late," I tell him.
"Why?" He moans.
"Stop complaining, and Ms. Sherry asked me," I tell him.
"Good," he turns to Ebhann, "How'd you meet my mom?" He asks her.
"Let's see, it started in freshman (grade 9) year of high school..."
*FLASHBACK*
*Ebhann's POV
I walked into one of Boston huge high schools, my head starts to spin it's so big. Students are milling around talking to their friends and us freshman are stuck here lost. I start looking for a boy named Levi that I met during a summer camp. Lets just say he's really cute.
"Ebhann!" I hear him call over the crowd. I turn around and see him run in my direction.
"C'mon we have to go check in, " he says before grabbing my hand and pulling me towards check in, I blush as his hand squeezes mine.
We walk to check in and we both get our schedules seeing that we only share art and lunch together. I was a little disappointed that we didn't share many classes together. I didn't know many people yet here.
"I want you to meet some friends," he tells me and grabs my hand again, pulling me to a really rowdy group of teenagers. When we got closer I noticed that not all the kids in the group were freshman, I saw kids from all other grades chilling too. In the middle of the group I saw a blonde haired girl.
"Nicka!" Levi yelled.
The girl with blonde hair turned and smiled when she saw Levi, this made me glare at her. Was I jealous? No. I couldn't be. I stop glaring when I saw how tall she was, she towered over me and even Levi. She also had a dark aura around her, the way her icy eyes scanned the people walking down the halls creeped me out.
"Levi how are you?" She asked him.
"I'm good. Nicka, this is Ebhann," he says while pulling me in front of him.
She looks down on me, he scrutinizing gaze making me shake a little. Finally she smiles and reaches out a hand, I gently shake it.
"So you're the girl that Levi wouldn't shut his mouth about?" She says with a smirk.
I blush and I hear Levi groan in annoyance, "see you later Nicka," he mumbles before pulling me away for the group, which causes me to giggle.
"Hope to see you at lunch Ebhann," I hear her shout.
After a long day at school Nicka, Levi, and I make our way home. I noticed Nicka was constantly looking around, her back was tense, and every time there was a noise her head snapped in that direction. I wonder why.
We continued walking with little conversation. I mean what was there to talk about, it was the first day of school.
I noticed a guy in a black hoody walking towards us, Nicka noticed too. Her back stiffened even more if that was possible. He looked like he was going to walk passed us, until he took out of knife and tried to stab Nicka.
She quickly grabbed the guys wrist, taking the knife and throwing it to Levi who caught it. He was in a fighting stance ready to aid Nicka if she needed it.
Nicka then turned him around and pinned his arms against his back. She looked at Levi who nodded and sent out a quick text. Minutes later a black SUV pulled up next to us and two big guys walked out. They took the guy without a word and threw him in the back seat of the car, they drove away as fast as they came.
Levi then grabbed my hand and we started to run, after five minutes we came up to a warehouse. I saw the big guys taking the guy that tried to stab Nicka out of the car and into and into the warehouse. I tried to pull back to stop Levi from bringing me in there. He just continued to pull me.
We walked in, it was pretty dark. Nicka lead the way down the hallway and into some sort of conference room. Levi sat me down in a chair and then took a seat next to me. Nicka stood in front of us, her blue eyes looking right through me.
"You can't tell anyone what happened back there," is the first thing she says.
"I-I won't ," I stutter, "but why did he attack you?" I ask.
She sighs and runs a hand through her long hair, "because my dad's the leader of the Boston Mafia."
*END OF FLASHBACK*
"Wow, she took him down that easily?" He asked.
"I've learned to never doubt your mom," Ebhann says. Trey, Levi, and I nod in agreement.
Quinn was about to ask another question when Treys phone rang, he answered and his face paled.
I can just tell by the look on his face that it's nothing good.
