"Come on. What did you expect?!"
-Loki

Present Day:

AMARA'S POV:

"Thor's visiting us!" Loki came into the kitchen yelling.

"You're telling me that you told your fucking brother, who's the god of fucking thunder to come and visit us? At the fucking stark tower?! How are you allowed to do this? You're on Stark Tower probation, since, maybe, I dunno, you destroyed New York?" I sighed, holding my head in my hands. This was going to be a very long night...

I said while trying to keep up with Loki, who was going on the helipad to meet him. His cape flowed behind him, his majestic demeanour enchanting. But after you stared at him for longer, you saw the blinking blue anklet, which made small beeps every time he took a step. He was stuck here, but he wouldn't allow anyone to admit it.

"LANGUAGE!" Steve shouted from the kitchen after hearing me.
Ah, yes, the 70-year-old frozen meatbag who has a very strong moral compass, apparently.

"Where's the helicopter?" I asked, annoyance written all over my face.

"Oh, you really have no idea, do you?" He smirked, hair slicked back perfectly.

"Heimdall, send him down!" He shouted to the sky.

I groaned, thinking that he had lost it, and the next thing would be for him to parade the streets naked. Honestly, there would be a lot of people not complaining.

Well, it WAS long overdue.

I went and stood behind him with Vihaan and Tony. Suddenly, a giant beam of light came onto the helipad, and a tall man with blonde hair and big muscles came out.

Frankly, he looked like a male barbie. L'Oreal ad-worthy.

"Hello, my dear Midgardians! Oh, and you must be Mr Vihaan Kulkarni! Pleasure!"
"I, I am a big fan of your work, sir!" Vi gushed. "The light beam pattern from the magic is beyond human comprehension!"

He then began conversing with Vihaan about how he came here and the science behind it.

Nerds. I thought. I was more invested in magical experiments, and figuring out the boundaries of my powers, while Vihaan, who was now 12, was in charge of the comms.

"So, I heard that you have powers." Thor turned around and asked me, a bright, toothy smile blinding me.

"Yup!" I said, trying to be cool, as cool as you can be when a god is standing in front of you. "So...do you know how to joust?" Thor asked.

"Absolutely not! She's 13 for heaven's sake!" Bruce shouted out from the courtyard.

"First of all, I'm 15. Second of all, absolutely yes!". I really didn't want to do this. I was going to embarrass myself.
You're confident, you're cool, and you believe in yourself. I whispered to myself. Stay strong. That's who you are.

Thor was staring intently at me when suddenly he outstretched his arm and waited. I had a slight clue about what he was doing, but still confused.

But, I put on a mask and didn't show any emotions. Because that's what you're best at doing. The voice in my head said. Stop it, I whispered. You don't get to do this to me every day.

Then, a hammer flew from the air into Thor's hands. I stood completely unfazed and just stood there, not noticing his smugness, a dazed look on my face.

"FRIDAY, activate Barn Door Protocol."
The two of us were shifted behind a glass wall, and the floor and ceiling became metal. I then reached out my hand and waited.

And waited.

Finally, my staff flew into my hand.
"I like her," he whispered to Natasha, who was standing inside, as the referee.

"Well, she learned from the best," she smiled at me, pride filling her heart.

"Mine's crafted from the heart of a dying star," he said, trying to show off. He twirled his hammer, trying to show off.

"Mine's Atlantean gold.No biggie," I said, cleaning my nail beds. His eyes widened.

"Begin!" Natasha yelled, moving away.

I was terrified.

He came running towards me, but I just stayed put.

He lunged, trying to headlock me. I just pressed the button on my staff. A double-edged sword popped out.

I quickly slid between his legs, making a gash at his thigh.

He gasped in pain but quickly turned around. He kept on trying to make me hold the hammer, and I pushed my staff against his weapon, trying to figure out why.

"Dude, stop trying to give me your weapon. That's so stupid."

"break thee off, child."
"Was that Shakespearean?" I asked him.
"Just hold the damn hammer, child!"
"No."

What was so special about it? Idiot.

Thinking that his hammer was rigged to give me an electric shock, I kept on swerving it.

He then tried to headlock me, and I dodged it again, cutting his cheek. I heard Tony and Vi chanting for Thor, while Loki and the rest were shouting for me. Some undercover agents of SHIELD even joined, until we had a full crowd.

"Is that all you got?" he asked.

"Well considering that you have blood trickling down your leg and I don't even have a scratch, I should be asking you that," I said, laughing, knowing fully well that I had won the battle.

I was ecstatic! Was I really that powerful? Could I bring a God to his knees?

He then shouted out loud and pushed me up against a glass wall, the butt of his hammer digging into my throat.

As a last resort, I took my extremely heavy sword and dropped it on his left foot.

He howled in pain, doubling back.

He then threw his hammer at my head, and I caught it just before it flew over me and smashed the wall.

Everyone gasped loudly. "Why are you so surprised? It's a hammer. Go back to work." I banged the door of the glass twice with it, and the agents glared at me, muttering something about me being moody, and slowly dispersed.

"FRIDAY, remove Barn Door Protocol please," I muttered.

I then started analysing the hammer in my hand, trying to figure out why it was so special.

"You! Who are you?" Thor asked, his eyes clouded by fear.

"Who am I? Uhh, happy, free, confused and lonely at the same time, courtesy of mother Taylor Swift, though I am a bigger fan of 5 Seconds of Summer, nowadays." I started swinging the hammer round.

It then slipped  towards Thor's hand and hit him in the stomach, a large lightning bolt erupting from it. That resulted in him flying across the room at full force, his body thudding against the wall.

"Oh shit! What did I do?" I said, running towards him.

"You did greatness! You jabbed my brother into a wall and hopefully killed him!" Loki exclaimed, happily.

I just killed a God.
Shit.

Hey guys :3 it's your friendly neighbourhood author! I'm trying a newer, more descriptive writing style, so let me know how that feels. How fast paced do you want the story to be, and how much do you want Loki involved in Amara's shenanigans?

Love,
Nib
