There were 2 prominent top-scorers in our class—Nithilan Balachander and Lim Jia Jie.
Nithilan was the smart, tall kid that could diss everyone without thinking for long. He soon got the nickname "Nithilan the Ingenious" (coined by himself and everyone went along with it because they agreed). He went on and became Head Prefect, but I'll tell you more in the later chapters. He also scored the second highest PSLE marks and went to his (very prestigious) dream school.
Jia Jie knew how to balance work and play very well. He would play with us for the majority, but I bet the moment he was home he would study, like the most responsible person on earth. If the teachers needed a example of work or there was a prize, he would most likely be included. He looked like he had some grey hair in his yee yee ass haircut, but we never questioned it. I remember he got the highest PSLE score and joined the "very prestigious" school with Nithilan.
It proves that great minds think alike.
