"Crap. I am so sorry, I swear I didn't see you there" It hasn't even been 10 minutes since I've walked into this school, and already my clumsiness is getting the best of me. This is my one chance and a normal life and I'm gonna ruin it by embarrassing myself on the first day. I bent down to pick up my fake glasses that fell when I tripped and all of a sudden, a deep chuckle stops me. The sound is so melodic and mesmerizing I can't help but raise my gaze from the floor and low and behold the most beautiful man ì had ever seen. And trust me that feat is not easy to beat.

"Don't worry about it."

Well I'll be damned. Who would have ever thought that one of the most beautiful people in the world would be found in East Setauket, New York? Not me, that's for sure. His brown hair was messy in a sexy way and his blue eyes shone as if they could decipher anything laid before them. But what almost made me fall on the floor, again, was that lazy half smile, showing amusement and a sense of mockery. I don't blame him, I basically fell on top of him.

"Are you okay? That was a pretty nasty fall." Wait. Is he talking to me? Savannah, speak. Come on. Why am I so nervous around this guy? All of my guy friends are male models and movie stars, it's not like I've never spoken to an attractive guy before, I'm Kayla Stevens for goodness' sake. Speak.

"Ye-yeah, I-I'm good." Great. I stuttered. Please just kill me now. Plan number 2, since I can't talk to him, I'll just back away slowly. He probably thinks I'm crazy and wants me to leave anyways. I mean I've been staring at him for a sold 2 minutes and I can't even speak.

"That's good to hear. Are you new?" Okay, Blue Eyes is still talking to me. I don't know whether I should jump for joy, or hide under a rock. I'm going to go with the latter. Crap, did he ask me a question? Oh yeah, am I new.

"Yeah, first day here." Success. No stuttering, I actually managed to string together a sentence. Savannah: 1, Blue Eyes: 0.

"Cool, I'm Charlie." So his name is Charlie. I like it. When I finally notice how quiet the hallway is, I realize that I'm supposed to be in homeroom.

"Hi Charlie, uhm I really have to get to homeroom. First day and all, I don't want to make a bad first impression." Real smooth Savannah. I turned around and swiftly walked into my classroom. My thoughts got interrupted by the teacher suddenly announcing;

"Hello class! We have a new student today. Does anyone want to be her buddy and show her around school today?" Well, I guess I'm going to be someone's charity case.

After a full minute of silence, it became obvious that no one was going to volunteer.

"Casey, can you be her buddy?" Well, great. The teacher just basically forced someone to take care of mewithout giving this 'Casey' person much of a choice. I mean, you can't really say no to a teacher, can you?

"Of course I can." A perfectly manicured hand with a silver charm bracelet raises in the back of the class. The girl the hand belonged to had blonde hair slightly past her shoulder with highlights, pin straight. Her clothes were all Gucci and wore a pair or Loubiton shoes, I have the same pair. Finally, she was gorgeous and it was obvious that she knew it. She whispered to the girl next to her and then pointed at the seat, right as the girl moved to a seat in the 2nd row. I made my way to the back and sat down in my apparently designated seat.

"My name is Casey. This is the last time I will probably ever speak to you for the rest of the year." The welcome wagon has just rolled in. And then passed me. Now it's time to make a decision, do I want to blend into the background or stand out and show my true personality? I'm gonna blend, there's a better chance of not getting caught.

"Okay."

Thankfully, the bell rang, signaling the end of homeroom and I began to make my way to English. It took me a solid 5 minutes to manoeuvre myself through this maze of hallways and stairs to my class. Great, I was late again.

"Hi, my name is Savannah. I'm new." Face plant. Obviously I'm new.

"Hello, please take a seat anywhere that's open" I saw a spot next to a girl who was smiling at me. She seemed nice but what really drew me in were her eyebrows. I took the spot next to Eyebrow girl and smiled at her.

"Hi, I'm Savannah."

"Hey, I'm Becca. How's your first day been so far?"

"It's been... okay. I mean what can you expect?" Becca laughed and turned to face the teacher. "Good point. Mr. Harris is a pretty tough teacher so we should pay attention but do you want to join me for lunch?" Yes! A friend. I smiled and replied "That would be amazing, yeah." before also turning towards the front.

I could have sworn that work was never this difficult before. I haven't attended any actual school in about 4 years but I have been up to date, studying on set during movies and with tutoring the rest of the time. Also, these glasses must be the most irritating things ever. I don't understand how people can actualy live day to day with them on. I miss looking like my old self. It's only been one day but I already miss my natural green eyes and blonde hair. It's weird looking in a mirror and seeing someone that you can't even recognize anymore. Now I just have to inform everyone that 'Kayla Stevens' is taking a year long break. Suddenly the bell rings, signaling the end of first period. Packing away my stuff and leaving the classroom, Becca turns to me.

"Savannah, meet me in front of the cafeteria and we can go in together." She turns around, flashing a passerby a grin and saunters down the hallway. She's like a little firecracker. Only one more class until lunch; AP Politics.

☆゜・。。・゜☆゜・。。・゜☆゜・。。・゜☆゜・。。・゜☆

Before the whole mall/model debacle, my dream was to become a politician and to change the world. I've always been slightly naturally gifted in understanding the necessities behind politics and the government. So walking into this class, I expected to have an easy A so that I would be able to focus on my other classes. How wrong I was...

The class went by quickly enough, with all of the information going in one ear, and out the other. In order to even pass this class, I'm going to have to really apply myself. Unfortunately, there were no welcoming people in this class so that leaves my 'New Friend Tally' at one. Becca.

Speaking of Becca, the lunch bell is going to ring in about 28 seconds and then I will finally be able to learn more about the social aspects of high school.
