AMELIA HELPED ISAAC AND SCOTT CARRY DEREK TOWARDS THE INSIDE OF THE ANIMAL CLINIC AS SOON AS THEY ARRIVED IN BEACON HILLS.

Amelia had to admit. She was thrown off by Derek being seventeen. Or look seventeen.

She didn't even have any idea how old was Derek supposed to even be.

How old was Derek?

They placed him on the examination table as Deaton started to look at him.

Amelia had no words, she had no idea how to describe what was even going on at the moment.

Derek, one of the people she trusted more in the world, her big brother, her companion on everything...

Looked like a high schooler.

"Wow," was the thing Deaton said, making Amelia open her eyes widely.

"Wow?" She asked. "Wow as in, «I've seen this before and I know exactly what to do» kind of wow? 'Cause that's the kind of wow we were hoping for."

She was panicking. She was clearly panicking. Her hands were trembling and it wasn't because of the cold or the rain, it was because she was indeed panicking.

"I think you might be overestimating my abilities," was the thing Deaton told her, making Amelia transform her hands in fists as she kept staring at the doctor, making so much force that she thought she might cut her palms with her nails.

"He's cold," said Lydia as she grabbed his hands, making Amelia look at her. "Really cold."

Deaton grabbed Derek's hand before touching her forehead, making Amelia breathe heavily.

"Do you think this is permanent?"

"It can't be! Okay?" Exploded Amelia, making Stiles turn around to look at her. "It can't be permanent! I can't have a seventeen year old Derek Hale running around when the present one is already too much work."

Stiles went to place his hands on her shoulders but she simply walked away towards the corner of the room, biting her nails.

It can't be permanent. It can't be.

"I'm not sure a medical diagnosis is even adequate," talked Deaton as he looked at Derek's eyes with his small examination flashlight. "This is well beyond my experience."

"So what do we do with him?" Asked Isaac.

"Until he wakes up? Probably not much. It might be best to leave him with me. He'll be safe here."

Amelia approached the vet. "You mean from Kate?"

The man looked at her. "If she's alive and she is what you say she is, she won't be able to walk past that gate."
