BEOMGYU POV

I looked out my window and continued to sob

'Yeonjun was the heir but I didn't need to be with him, why didn't he just confess to me and we could've lived a happy life.'

I looked down and sat beside the window.

After a while of sitting, I see a small woman running fastly in the palace.

'Who is that and how are they running so fast?'

The guards stopped her and heard her out, after that; they looked sharper and prevented her from coming inside.

The woman looked determined and looked as if she was going to sob.

'I feel bad for her... maybe she came to deliver something for Huening or Hyunjin?'

I grab the emergency rope in my room and swiftly go down to the front gate.

"Excuse me, what is all this fuss about?"

"Your highness, this woman here is being outrageous."

"I am not being outrageous! Your Excellency, Beomgyu, I came here per request of Prince Soobin! Please, I must go in as soon as possible or he won't make it!"

"Who won't make it? And why exactly are you here?!"

"Your Excellency, the crown prince of the West Kingdom has been poisoned! Please! You must let me in!"

"And why did you guys not let her in?! Come inside"

"We apologize your highness but we cannot listen to your orders."

My eyes widened

"Wow wow, what a surprise!"

I look behind me and it was the Duke Dosun

"You..."

"Was it my father who has giving you order?!"

"Haha, you're quite observant."

"Why do you care about the crown prince if he was the one who cheated on you and embarrassed you?"

I held onto my wrist nervously

"Just because he ruined my life doesn't mean I would let him off to die!"

"Now let her in!"

The guards stood ground

"But with him out of the way we-"

I slapped the Duke

"I am not in good terms with Soobin right now but your inconsiderate attitude really irritates me."

"Leaving someone to die isn't any helpful to your situation! Leaving Yeonjun to die won't make me want you any more rather it will make me hate you even more."

I look at the glass that was in the woman's hands

"Is that the cure?"

The woman nods and I quickly take it.

I sprint inside but the Duke grabs my wrist

I hug the glass tightly to my side

"Now Now crown prince, I cannot let you take that glass to the heir. They've figured out the truth and it's better to leave him to die."
