A Ticking Time Bomb

~Back to school~

Today was monday the first day back since the fourth of july break!Mae was use to sleeping in all the time.So when she heard her mom yell from the other room to get up she panicked.Mae then jumped out of bed to stop her screaming alarm to see that she had only 25 minutes till school started!Mae ran to her closet to throw on her school uniform and put on some makeup.As Mae grabbed her backpack and shoes she ran to the window to the fire escape stairs and started banging on the next doors window to wake up her bsf jessica!"JESSICA WAKE UP we're going to be late!"Mae screams from outside.Jessica's mom then slides the window open explaining that jessica is sick and won't make it to school.Mae apologizes for screaming and starts climbing down the fire escape to the sidewalk.She sits down on a nearby bench to put on her shoes and grab her phone and airpods.Turning on music she  starts running down the sidewalk dogging and weaving threw the crowd!She made it to school with ten minutes to spare so she sprints to the bathroom since she didn't have enough time to check her appearance at home.The bathroom was empty considering that everyone was going to class.Mae then sees herself in one of the nearby mirror and gasps "Crap i- i lOOk like crap".Since Mae was rushing she looked like she had gotten attacked!Her hair wasn't brushed (cause this whole break she has been to lazy to)her shirt was inside out and her skirt was all wrinkled not to mention she has smeared mascara and drool all over her.She jumped into the nearest stall to fix everything and went to her first class being 2 minutes late!

School was finally over and Mae was done with everyone and everything!She hasn't eaten anything since lunch and her schools lunch was so small and so disgusting that she didn't eat.Her bsf jessica usually brings her something to eat knowing Mae never packs a lunch.But since she was sick Mae was starving so she decided to stop at one of the sketchy gas stations and get something there.Mae has social anxiety so she was really hesitant to ask one of the workers for help.So she kinda just stood there staring at the bag of chips on the top shelf that was just out of her reach."ok i'll try one more time then ill just ask for help"she whispers to herself.She was now on her tippy toes reaching for the bag when suddenly a large figure grabs the bag from behind her.She quickly turns around hoping the person wasn't mad.When she looked up she saw a boy around her age staring back down at her."All you need to do is ask for help you know.."he says giving her the bag of chips."T-thank you s-so much"Mae says in a low voice "No problem,my name is james"he proclaims!"M-Mae"she stutters "huh,what did you say?""MAE" both Mae and the boy look at the front of the store to see the one the only Jessica barns!Jessica then pulls you into a different isle"jessica what-i thought you were sick?""oh i am my mom just sent me to get some medicine"she coughs."but whooo was that guy"."oh i don't know he helped me get the bag of chips then you came"."Thanks for saving me"Mae says in relief."it's nothing come one let's go home i got a lot of school to catch up on"she says.Mae and jessica both pay for what they got and walked out of the store where she saw the same boy from before standing outside of the store.Mae blushed and hides behind her bsf so he can't see her and try to talk again.Mae and jessica finally get home where they have to go back into there own apartments so they won't get yelled at.Mae does her schoolwork eats dinner and gets ready for the next boring day.Every day was basically a normal school day nothing interesting happens.But it was the day she hates the most friday.For almost everyone friday is the best day cause it's the weekend and they can go out partying but for Mae is was the most stressful time of the week."Therapy day"she rolls her eyes as she walks out the door to get in the car."SHOT GUN" her older brother yelled"ugh why does he have to come"Mae complains "be nice to your brother, he just wants to support you dear"Mae's mom answers "pfttt no i'm just coming for the food"he says laughing.No one but her family and her bsf's family knew she went to therapy and sometimes mental hospitals.And she wanted it to stay that way!
