Zac smiled at his friends, all crowded next to their partners in a booth. 'I wish I had a girlfriend', Zac thought as he scanned the diner. It was a Friday night, so naturally it was crowded. Although there was familiar faces and dozens of people, Zac felt alone. He was the only person there not cuddling close to another. He never minded it, really. Zac was fine being alone. He never fell in love before with a girl.Well, there was the two day relationship in 7th grade between him and Ashlynn, but he didn't count that as much.
While his friends made out, he decided to go get another milkshake. He made his way up to the front and ordered.
"Okay, I'm flattered, but really, I'm gay.", A boy said to a girl at the island.
"Well, maybe you can be turned bi...", The girl said, running her hands through his hair. Zac noticed how uncomfortable the boy was so he did the only humane thing.
He took the boy's hand and asked, "Is this girl bothering you, baby?" The boy looked up at him in shock.
"I was just leaving.", The girl glared at Zac and walked away to torment another guy.
"Thanks, man, I owe you one.", The boy said.
"Nah, it was just the right thing to do.", Zac smiled, sitting down.
"Seriously. Let me do something for you. Here, let me pay for your milkshake.", The boy smiled, and flipped a five onto the counter.
"Oh-...I'm really sorry. I'm not-..", Zac jumped up.
"Yeah, that's pretty obvious. Just a piece of info, not every gay person is going to be interested in you. I just wanted to repay the favor.", He laughed.
      "Anyways, I'm Aidan.", Aidan said.
"Zac.", He finished  chocolate milkshake and got up.
"You want to hang out a little bit or are you busy with your friends?", Aidan smirked.
"Well-..", Zac turned to see his friends still kissing in the back, " I guess I'll stay here." Slowly, Zac noticed things about Aidan that he never noticed about anyone else before. He is GOOD looking, Zac thought, and quickly pushed it away. He just assumed he was a little jealous.
"So, what school do you go to?", Aidan asked. Zac panicked, God he's so cute. "Uh-..cute guy high school..WAIT-", Zac blushed and shook his head. Jesus, he thought, get it together Zac.
"Oh, I want to go there!", Aidan yelled, "H3ll, sign me up right now."
He sat down in between the two stools. A few inches to the left and he would be sitting directly on Zac.
"You want to know why I want to go there?", He said, softer.
      "Wh-why?", Zac's face turned red.
"Because you go there..", Aidan flashed him a devilish grin and turned to sit in his seat.
Two hours later, the diner was closing. The two stood out in the cold, their breath turning to fog in the air.
"I don't really want to go home.", Zac smiled. "Me neither...", Aidan put an arm around Zac to keep him warm. Zac shivered under his arm, but this time, not from the cold.
"Do you want to catch a movie or something?", Zac asked.
"I'm sorry, I have work in the morning-...but next weekend I'm free.", Aidan sighed. They exchanged numbers and Aidan hailed a cab. With a kiss on Zac's head, he was gone...
