[Four days since the last chapter]
*Ella's pov*

The waves crashed in the background as Care and I laid out in the cabanas by the ocean. The past few days have put a light glow on my skin; lines of freckles decorated my shoulders and a pink tint made home of my nose. Aside from the physical changes, I am the happiest I've been in a really long time. Surrounded by people I adore with nothing to worry about and nothing to go wrong. It feels like I can finally breathe again.

"I'm really sad you have to leave tomorrow," I huffed, rolling over to Carolynn who was sipping on a cocktail through a pink straw. She lifted her sunglasses up onto her head and pouted.

"I know, it sucks. I'll be all the way across the country," She sucked the last of her drink and set it on the sand beside her.

"Ah yes, the homeland," I chuckled awkwardly, not wanting to be reminded of home. I picked up my drink and began anxiously poking holes into the frozen liquid with my straw.

"You know if you're ever visiting your family, you're more then welcome to stay with us. We have a guest room," She smiled innocently at me. I nodded.

"N-no yeah of course. I'd love to stay with you guys if I ever visit. D-do you want me to go get us waters?" I asked, trying to change the subject, while quickly getting up from the cabana.

"Um yeah sure thank you!" Carolynn called as I was already half way to the snack bar. I walked up and ordered two waters for Care and I before placing my chin into my hand and leaning against the bar. My week in Hawaii had caused me to completely forget the fact I have to go see my family for Thanksgiving soon.

"You aren't supposed to be sad in Hawaii," A male's voice from above me caused me to jump a little, before looking up to see who it had come from. A tall boy, with dirty blonde hair and brown eyes, towered over me. His 6'2 stature leaned casually against the bar next to me, his hand running laps through his shaggy hair.

"I guess you're right about that," I laughed softly causing him to smile, revealing rows of perfect white teeth.

"I'm Zach," He smiled down at me extending his right hand. I gladly took it into mine and shook it.

"Ella," I responded as the worker handed me my waters.

"So Ella, why so blue?" Zach smirked as he walked beside me, getting out of the way of the other customers.

"I don't want this to be over. I have to go home in a few days," I motioned towards the ocean and the beautiful landscape before us. He nodded understandingly.

"This is the hardest place on earth to leave. Lucky for me, I'm here year round." He said pointing towards the surf shack that sat on the sand a few yards away. "But you're here now aren't you? What do you say we make you enjoy it as best you can?" I raised an eyebrow in suspicion as he grabbed my arm and lead me towards the shack.

"You're going to teach me how to surf?" I asked, a slight giggle escaping from my mouth in response to the flattery. Zach nodded as he grabbed two boards and laid them on the sand. "Good luck. I'm an awful surfer," I laughed thinking back to a couple days ago when Charlie, Owen and I tried to surf. I kept wiping out during every tiny wave and barely even made it out alive.

"I'm up for the challenge," Zach flipped his hair out of his eyes and winked at me. My heart fluttered; he looks straight out of Baywatch. I ran over to Carolynn to give her the water bottle and inform her of my new plans.

"Who's that?" Carolynn asked with wide eyes as she pointed towards Zach. "He's...wow," She wiggled her eyebrows at me and I laughed.

"I know!! His name is Zach and he's going to try to teach me how to surf," My cheeks turned red as we squealed over my cute new surf instructor. I ran back over to Zach and he high fived me. "Ready to go!" I smiled at him as he carried both of our boards towards the water.
