Cryonics froze, caution, fear, and the hand over her mouth pinning her in place. The stranger behind her spoke with what sounded like a smirk. "Caught you. What is a little girl like you doing spying on a couple of pros?"

Cryonics reacted, her years on the streets of Hosu city giving her the reaction time she needed. She created a glowing blade of ice and stabbed it into the man's arm. The man let out a surprised grunt, releasing the girl. Spinning away, Cryonics stamped a foot on the ground ice spread from her foot, creating a platform that grew from the alley floor, lifting the girl towards the city rooftops of Hosu city.

She was fast, the man could give her that, but not fast enough. He jumped from the ground onto the strange red platform, letting his blue flame blossom towards the girl, expecting a charred, desiccated form to be left behind.

Cryonics watched in shock as the blue flame erupted from the man's fingertips, and rushed towards her faster than she could blink. Then she was covered in it. She expected instantaneous pain and to at least be burned beyond recognition.

But when she opened her eyes when the strange heat was gone, she felt no pain. Hell, besides her clothing, She felt the same as always. When she met the eyes of the man, shocked that the fire hadn't killed her, she only saw her own shock reflected in his eyes. In the second it took for her to realize that her opponent was caught off guard, Cryonics let her ice shoot from her hand, blasting the man with the intent to trap him in a sculpture of burning ice.

And it worked. Sort of. The man was trapped inside a blast of her ice, and for at least a moment he was confined to her structure. His eyes alight with fury, he released a blast of fire from one hand, intending to melt away all her ice in a flash. But his flame abruptly ceased. Cryonics squinted at him and saw that he'd only melted a sphere around his hand before stopping. His hand was left smoking and shaking in pain.

Dabi watched, agitated, as the girl cautiously stepped closer to his figure. She kicked at the base of the statue as if testing it, before looking at him with blatant curiosity in her eyes. "That's funny." Dabi felt his eyes glare at her, wishing not for the first time in his life that looks could kill. The girl squinted at him. "Can you hear me in there?"

Dabi just stared at her. What in the hell? Why is she talking to me?

The girl stepped even closer, discarding her cautious demeanor. "I guess you wouldn't tell me if you could." She peered into his eyes, and Dabi felt the intense desire to pull away, restricted only by the ice surrounding him. He growled deep in his throat and lit his hand aflame again, trying again to burn away the ice. He could feel the pain of the fire swirling around his hand, but kept at it, wanting to get out of this stupid ice sculpture so that he could light this stupid girl on fire till she was nothing but ash. But then he stopped, remembering how moments before his flame had washed over her and left her untouched. He stilled, feeling curiosity of his own light in his eyes. What was this girl's quirk, that let her create red ice but left her skin impervious to fire?

Cryonics studied the man inside her ice. Usually, when her ice came in contact with human skin, it felt so cold that it burned them. This man should be in pain right now, at the very least wincing from the extreme temperature of the ice. But here this man stood, scarred and burned, standing against her ice with only vague discomfort and annoyance in his eyes. Cryonics felt herself frown. "I guess I'm just going to leave you here. Either you'll be out in about three days when the ice melts by itself, you'll break yourself out a bit sooner than that, or somebody will come around to help you." she let out a huff of annoyance and stomped her foot, pushing her platform higher towards the rooftops of Hosu city. "See you around, purple zombie man."
