A deep depression soon consumed Elliot in a murky cloud of darkness that seemed unbreakable. His daily routine degraded into waking up, eating, and back to sleeping. This behavior continued for weeks on end without pause. At this point the residents of the lower valley knew about Elliot's loss. They were sympathetic in a way. To them, Mia was a jewel hidden away in their quiet valley. She was so kind, so caring and helpful, that it seemed unbreakable. They others knew how Elliot was feeling. Occasionally, any random pokemon would check up on him and bring him stuff, just to make sure Elliot was still alive. These visits would comfort him. He would always eagerly answer to the door, as if he had been alone for eternity, though it was just weeks.
...One misty afternoon, a rather unusual visit took place.
There is a knock at the door. "Ya!" Elliot yells from the bed,"Just a sec!" He gets out of bed, walks to the door, and opens it. To his surprise, the pokemon at the door is one he has not ever seen. Never on the visit, or when he used to walk to town. The pokemon at the door was a male meowstic, with a short stature with blue shiny fur and notably, whites on the tips of its ears. "I've never seen you before" Elliot began, "are you new to the valley?" The meowstic answered, "No, not really. I've been here before." "So" Elliot asked, "what's your name?" "Xander, or Xan for short" The meowstic answered. "Elliot", Elliot replied. "I know", Xan told him,"I've heard a lot about your story, and I'm sorry for your loss." "Yeah..." Elliot said," Sad stuff isn't it." Xan told him, "Very sad. Believe me, I've been through it before. A while ago, I lost my sister. Caught by a river current. Never even got to say goodbye." "Seems we have a lot in common" Elliot replied, trying to lighten the mood. "Your dark humor, not effective sorry." Xan said. "We really need to get you out of the house." "Please do." Elliot responded. "You know about the city near here right?" Xan asked. "Yea." Elliot said. The place she's from. Would be nice. He thought to himself. "Lets go there then shall we?" Xan asked. "Alright, I'm down." Elliot answered. The two walked for what seemed like hours till they got to a skycar thing. "A s-skycar?" Elliot said nervously. "Are that scared?" "Y-yeah. I hate h-heights." Elliot stuttered, "I'm not going in that." "Welp" Xan said, "Sorreh bout this ey!" Xan then kicked the poor lucario into the car, making a loud metallic thud as Elliot slammed into the side. "Owww" Elliot winced, "Whyyy?" "Fastest way there." Can told him. Xan then reached out. "Here" He said. Elliot grabbed his paw, and Xan pulled him to his feet. "Next time, not as hard ok?" Elliot pleaded. Xan smiled and said,"No promises." Elliot figured just to follow Xan wherever.
...They arrived in the city, noises, lights and other pokemon about, all very much new to Elliot who was used to the calm and tranquility of the valley. "How bout we eat? Then we can explore." Xan asked Elliot. Elliot agreed, and Xan lead Elliot down a street to an open air restaurant advertised by a neon flashing sign. "You'll like it here." Xan said, "This was my favorite place when I was younger." They walked inside, Elliot noticed a small bonsai tree tipped over, pebbles littering the area in front of it. The tree reminded Elliot of when he first met Mia. Saving her was the best decision of his life. (English?) He shook the thought before it dragged him down.
Soon after ordering food, the litteral feast of a lunch arrived before them. Again Elliot was struck by memories. Finally, he spoke out, "You know Xan, this reminds me of the day before she left. It was our anniversary, and she had prepared a feast like this at home. Feels nice remembering it." But Xan asked," Your feeling down aren't you? I can hear it." "Yea..." Elliot said. "I do miss her." "If you don't mind, can you tell me more about Mia?" Elliot went on, " Mia was priceless. Her aura, so inviting and warm, like a cozy cabin on a cold snowy day. She was about the most gorgeous female you'd ever seen, her face I'll never forget, blazing, always alight never to dim or die, her body felt so nice and warm on mine." "Ok buddy." Xan giggled. "Shut it." Elliot snapped, and continued, "But my God!! I will miss the taste of her lips! (₩~₩) But yea, her compassion to me is and mine to her will always be unbreakable, no matter where she is. She was always there when I needed her, and very much made my isolated life in the valley much less isolated. I can't thank her enough for what she had done. I just wish I could have saved her the second time." Xan put his paw on Elliot's and promised, "It's alright man. She knows how grateful you are. I'm sure you would have done the same to keep her alive." "But," Elliot speculated,"It's like I feel trapped. Like I can't move on." "You'll get there," Xan reassured,"But not now, you still have a long way to go. I'll help you through."
...
The two got up and left a tip, then left. Xan took Elliot further down the City, Elliot seeing more new things along the way. He questioned, "Where are we going now?" "How bout a movie?" "What's that?" Elliot asked. "You'll see!" Xan reassured.
At the theater they watched Revengers: Endplay. "I didn't get it" Elliot said. "Probably wasn't a good idea to let you skip to the last movie, but its fine, I'll explain later." "But I really like the part where Titanium Man snatched those crystals from Kamos. " Elliot said. "Too bad he died though..." "Very." Can agreed. The two then set a course for home.
...
After the skycar ride, which Elliot willingly went on, Xan realized it was probably too late to reach Elliot's home and decided to stop for the night. "Lets spend the night for now." Xan told Elliot. "Alrighty." Yawned Elliot. The two decided to sleep in a large cherry blossom tree, as it seemed the best choice. As they settled in for the night, Can suddenly spoke out to Elliot, "Do you believe in a second life?" "What's that" queried Elliot. "Like the body dies but the spirit doesn't." "Explain." Asked Elliot. "My sister, before she went, told me that spirits are unbreakable, and that they'd always find a way to tie back to the physical plane. She also said that the spirits will always find there way to important people like family or ones they love. I think my sister is out there... Somewhere. And I thinks its the same for you." "It seems reasonable," Elliot said,"but I really don't know my stance on it. I wish it is true, then my life would be better." "Well, we'll see" Xan reassured him. Both looked up in to the night sky. A dark blue dotted by stars of many colors. Patters forming on and off. However, something caught Elliot's eye. A flowing fire like design, something like Mia's tail, with a splash of white on the end. Then Elliot went nye nye.
...Elliot was lost floating in nothingness. Dreaming...
He looked everywhere... Emptyness.
Then a brilliant spark of light and embers caught his attention. The blinding light had created a sillohete, faced away from him. Tuffs of fur coming down from its ears, a skirt-like curtain of fur around its legs, and its tail, long poofy and smooth. With a splash of fox white on the end. The figure was obviously a braixen. Mia, he thought. He tried calling out. He couldn't find his voice. He tried waving to no effect. He approached her, opening his arms to embrace Mia. He finally reached her and hugged tightly. Elliot though she wouldn't notice. But, to his surprise, she touched her paws to his arms and whispered, "Hello my love." Then the spark reignited, blinding Elliot, and she was gone...
