A brisk, chilly morning in the valley of Shapiro, Japan. A small straw hut lies on a ridgeline. Smoke is coming from a small campfire near it. A rather small but fit Lucario is roasting fish for breakfast.
Lucario says to himself,"This routine is so old, I need to find something else to eat. Guess I'll stop by town later."
At the bottom of the valley several structures dotted the area, with a small cluster of them in the center with quite a few shops for the town despite its size. The Lucario's favorite shop was a market called Caburry's. The walk to town is quite long and going back would be worse, as he'd have to go back up with stuff as well as going up hill. However the Lucario had done this thousands of times before almost to the point where he could walk blindfolded both ways, as well as carry water with him. These journeys had strengthened him, and always rested his mind when he thought about......Her.Everyone has scars, both inside and out. Some are damaging, life-altering, while, some are not as bad and are more shallow wounds. And eventually all will heal. In the case of the Lucario, this scar was irreparable.
Five years ago.......
The Lucario is making the same journey to town, everything the same, although not entirely. There was rustling in the bushes along the path and sounds of another pokemon struglling. A female pokemon. The Lucario, drawn to the sounds of struggle, cautiously pads towards the bushes as wild pokemon attacks, while rare, can happen in the forests. Slowly approaching the bush, a soft but distressed voice shouts out.
???- Please halp! Am stuck!!
Determined to help, the Lucario brushes through the brush (wow great wordplay) and sees a fallen tree but nothing else.
The Lucario calls out,"Where are you?
???: Under the tree! Please help, I can't breathe!
Under the tree, there lies a small Braixen, half of its body pinned under the tree.
The Lucario responds,"I see you! kinda...
Her face, though cute, showed she was scared, and she has good reason to be. The tree that fell was of a great oak, much like the one near his home, large and obviously very heavy.
The Lucario says to her,"Hold on I have an idea, but I need your help."
The Braixen answers,"Umm... I guess I could try?"
Lucario reassures her,"Don't worry, just trust me." The Braixen responds,"Okay."
Quickly, the Lucario scans his surroundings. He spots bamboo, and he finds the strongest one he can find and runs back, to the Braixen.
In a worried tone the Braixen says,"Wait that's bamboo, it can't support the tree for long!
Lucario reassures her,"I don't need it for long. Just try to get away when I tell you."
The Braixen still looks worried. The Lucario wedges one end of the bamboo under the tree, and uses a force palm on the other end of the bamboo. "Ready? Now!!" The Lucario tells her. The tree is knocked up, freeing the Braixen, but is coming back down. Realizing the Braixen is still in the path of the tree, he reaches out for her.
Lucario tells her,"Hurry! Take my paw!"
The Braixen reaches and grabs tight, her tiny claws digging into Lucario's paw. The Lucario pulls the Braixen away, the Lucario falling to his back, the tree lands with a monstrous thud that echoes throughout the forest and dust is kicked up. When the dust settles, the Lucario asks, "Are you okay?" As he says this, he noticed the Braixen was on top of him, embracing him tightly, just below his chest spike.
The Braixen answers,"Y-Yeah, I think I-I'm okay. Thank you."
The Lucario replies,"Anytime. Here let me help you up.
The Lucario supports her as she tries to stand, but her legs immediately buckle and she collapses. Lucario catches her before she falls all the way.
The Braixen yelps in pain,"M-My back! I-I can't walk...." Her eyes shimmered with tears. She's badly hurt, I need to help her. The Lucario thought to himself.
Seeing as the town was too far to carry her, the Lucario decided to take her to his place to treat her. When they finally arrived, the sun was setting, and the forest cover made it even darker. The Lucario brought the Braixen inside and laid her delicately on his bed. By this time the Braixen was exhausted and was about to faint, but her pains had died down, and she was less teary-eyed. The Lucario got some water in a bamboo cup and a brought a bowl of newly cooked fish and asked her if she wanted it, the Lucario didn't plan to eat tonight. The Braixen happily accepted the gifts and found the strength to consume the meal.
The Lucario asks,"So, its I know its a bit late for introductions but, what is your name?"
The Braixen giggled, and answered,"Myria, but you can call me Mia. So one to another, what's your name? The Lucario responded,"Elliot"
Mia told him,"I like your name, Elliot."
"The same to you, Mia", Elliot shot back.
Mia tried to sit up. But then Mia's pain returned,"Aghhh! Ok there is something wrong with my back." She exclaimed.
Her worried expression returned along with a hint of pain.
Elliot worriedly asked her,"If you don't mind, shall I check? Just to see if its not broken..." Mia agreed and gingerly rolled over onto her chest. "Where?" Elliot asked. "Lower back please..." Mia answered. "Like above the base of my tail?" Elliot felt his face and fur grow hot with embarrassment. "O-Okaaay?" He said, rather embarrased. But seeing Mia in so much pain was too much for Elliot. So reluctantly, he reached out and felt around on Mia's back, which was quite warm, (because she's a fire type?) gently prodding places where it causes Mia to moan in pain. After a while of examination, Elliot brought his hands over a place on Mia's back, and with a swift and firm motion, Mia's back made a pop and, her pain ceased. However, with the injury repaired, Mia was still sore all over. "Why don't you stay for a bit, just for the night?" Elliot asked. "Okay. If you don't mind." Mia answered. "Of course not." Elliot reassured her. "Thank you Elliot. You are such a kind friend." She told him. Elliot smiled at her.
