Younghoon's POV
" I got to go! " I said to Sunwoo as I ran off.
I chose not to change out of my uniform. I went over to the place that Youngjin's dad and I were supposed to meet.
I looked around the place and spotted a familiar figure. I walked over to him as I sat down before him.
Her dad adjusted his posture, " So why do you want to meet me? " I gulped.
" I'm very sure about Youngjin. Please trust me that I will never hurt her. " He scoffed.
He eyed me, " You guys are only in high school. How can I take a high schooler's words for real? "
" I may be in high school but my feelings for her is not going to change. Not now, not in the future. You may find me immature now but I will prove to you. " I said.
He leaned back onto the chair, " Prove with what? Time? What if you end up hurting her? You're just wasting her youth. "
" I will never do anything to hurt Youngjin. You can take my words. If I ever hurt her, I will- " He stopped me and I looked up at him.
" Young man, I know that love isn't a game for you but you have to understand my point as a father. Imagine the first time you see your daughter's boyfriend is when they kissed. " I pursed my lips.
He let out a sigh, " How about you tell me more about yourself. I want to know you, not my daughter's friend. "
" I'm Kim Younghoon. I lived with my mom, dad and sister but my dad isn't home for the time being due to his work. " He nod.
" I swim a lot but currently, I play basketball. " I said and he nod.
He sat up straight, " Well, let me introduce myself too. I'm Lee Donghyun, I cook well so people calls me Korean Gordon Ramsay. " He looked down at the floor, with his lips pursed.
" Oh, and I swim too. " He said when he looked up.
My eyes widened, " Really? Do you swim competitively? " He shook his head.
" I used to have this dream but I got married early, at that time my main goal was to earn enough money to raise my children and wife well. Competitive swimming requires me to train a lot so I wouldn't be home much but my wife and children needs me. " I nod.
He let out a sigh, " It's never too late to try something though. " I said and he looked up at me.
" You don't know about the real world, kid. It's not as good as what it seemed to you now. " He said.
I nod, " That's true but it doesn't mean that you should let that change what you want and who you are. " He let out a sigh.
" I don't know about the other people your age, but you're definitely wiser than my kids. "
Youngjin's POV
I walked back and forth while biting my lips.
" Thank god we have no one living below us or else they are going to complain about an elephant stomping. " Jaehyun said and I glared at him.
Sangyeon looked up at me, " You've been walking back and forth for the past hour. Are you trying to lose weight or something? " I shook my head.
" Younghoon ate lunch with dad today. I'm not sure what- " Just then, the door opened.
My eyes couldn't believe what I just saw.
Jaehyun stood up, " Am I hallucinating or am I seeing Younghoon? " He asked.
" I'm pretty sure it's Younghoon. " Sangyeon said.
The three of us stared blankly at my dad and Younghoon. I'm just surprised at the fact that my dad brought Younghoon home.
My dad looked over at us, " What are you waiting for? Come and take these for us! " We rushed over and took the bags from my dad.
I eyed Younghoon and he simply shrugged.
We gathered about the dining table for our dinner and it was so awkward for me. " Eat more, eat more. " My dad took some food for him.
" I've never been treated this nicely in my li- " My mom smacked Jaehyun on the arm and he groaned in pain.
" Care to explain what happened between the both of you? " I asked and my dad grinned brightly.
He placed his hand on Younghoon's shoulder, " I realised we have a lot in common and he's a lot more mature than the three of you. Because of him, I'm going to make an announcement. "
My dad stood up, " I'm going back into swimming. "
The three of us, along with my mom stared at him blankly. " You swim? " Sangyeon asked.
" Oh swim, I thought you mean sink. " Jaehyun said.
" That's so sudden but okay. If you're happy. " I said and my mom nod, agreeing with my statement.
After dinner, I dragged Younghoon to my room. He owes me an explanation as to what happened. " Your dad said he gave up swimming for your family and I just gave my take on it. "
" That's all? " He nod.
He pulled me into a hug as he stroked my hair gently, " I told you I'd get it all settled. " I nod as I wrapped my arms around his waist.
I lifted my head slightly, " So we don't have to sneak around anymore! " I grinned and he nod.
My eyes lit up as I dragged Younghoon down to look for my dad. I stretched my arm out to my dad, " My phone please. " He sighed as he took my phone out of his pocket.
" Do you carry my phone around? " I asked as he passed it over to me.
He nod, " Thats partially how I know this man here isn't playing, he's serious. " He looked over at Younghoon.
I furrowed my brows, " How do you- " I unlocked my phone and realised Younghoon send lots of messages everyday to my dad via my phone.
I looked up at Younghoon and he shot me the most gentle smile ever. " So you agree with this? " I used my index finger to point from me to Younghoon and it repeats.
He nod.
" Yes. "
