As I walk out, I put one headphone in for some sort of barrier between myself and my thoughts. I stop walking to pick a playlist and my thumb freezes over the playlist I had made for Piper. My heart hammers and I can feel my eyes burning from the unshed tears that are piling up. I close my eyes and have a small, distasteful, chuckle before I click on my workout playlist. I may not be working out, but the screaming and hype music will help me burn through the feelings that are still swimming underneath.

I continue to walk through the parking lot as Bring Me The Horizon screams in my left ear about a parasite or something like that, I'm just using it for noise right now. In my right ear I can hear a car starting. I think of all the teachers who actually leave during sixth period, when none come to mind, I shrug and keep walking. Someone else is ditching school like me, oh well, not my jurisdiction. I continue walking until the car pulls out in front of me causing me to stop.

I don't know what's worse, the fact that my legs nearly got taken off or the fact that I see who's in the car. I stare at her as her kaleidoscope eyes find mine and I watch as they widen. She ducks her head and hits Chase, probably telling him to hurry up. He finally spots me, and his face burns bright red. He speeds up and peels out of the parking lot. I'm frozen in place. My body doesn't even move on its own when I hear Percy and Leo break out of the front school doors.

"Jason," Percy yells.

I snap out of my trance, there is no way I'm letting them catch me off guard. I sprint to the back corner where my '69 Mustang sits in perfect condition. I slide across the hood and jump into the driver side. Just as I start it and begin to back up, I hear hands smack the hood.

"Jason, listen to me," Percy says. He's out of wind and sweating like a fat man in the middle of a Texas summer. Working out is different when you're out of the water isn't it swimmer boy? "Piper wants you back. Trust me."

I bark out a laugh. "Bullshit Percy. I just saw her take off with Chase in his car. You can't change my mind on what I know. Now, if you'll excuse me there's about a dozen chicks who want to find out why they call me the master bolt."

Percy screws up his face and mimics a gag. Leo appears in my passenger side seat eating one of the many bags of food he has. "Do they call you that because you're pretty and flashy, but you only have one pump before you're done?"

I smack him in the head. "No, that's not why. Anyway, how'd you get in my car? I locked the doors."

"You think that matters?" He pulls out a makeshift lock pick and wiggles it in my face. "I'm smarter than the average dumbass you know."

A thud happening to my left causes me to sigh and look out of my window. Percy is there giving me puppy dog eyes and whining. I introduce him to my favorite finger, and he begins to lick my window like a mad man. I gag and unlock my doors. Percy runs over to the passenger side and climbs on top of Leo.

"Don't you guys have to grab your bags?"

Leo wiggles his face out from Percy's back. "We do, but finding you was more important. If you'd be so kind to drop us off at the front of the school so we can grab our stuff that'd be lovely."

I take a deep breath and slowly exhale as I drive to the front of the school. They fall out of the seat and spill onto the sidewalk. It only takes them a couple of minutes to get their things and make it back outside. What takes forever is them arguing on who gets to sit on whos' lap.

"Amigo, I'm smaller than you so it'd make sense for me to be on top since I'm lighter."

"Bro, listen. You don't want me on the bottom, it'd be better for all of us if I sat on you."

After five minutes of back and forth I threaten to leave if one of them doesn't get in right now. Leo forces Percy to get in and he jumps on top.

"Bro, I'm telling you, right now. This car ride is about to be awkward."

"Uh huh, why's that Percy? Going gay for me," Leo asks him while wiggling his eyebrows.

"You wish, but no. Annabeth is trying to start something, and I may have, uh, adverse reactions."

Leo's face falls and his skin goes pale. "Jason pull over. Right now. I ain't trying to go a car ride with some dude getting hard underneath me. Pull over, please I'm begging you. Please please please. Jason I'll detail your car for free, just pull over so we can switch. Why are you still driving?" His voice goes from a quiet panic to a screeching sound by the end of his plead for me to stop.

I laugh at Leo's begging as we hit the freeway. "Let's see, you and Percy torture me during school, so I torture you after it." I look at them briefly and smile. The look of pure terror on their faces is enough to make my day tenfold. Who needs a girlfriend when you have the boys?

Thirty minutes of driving, which meant thirty minutes of Leo and Percy awkwardly trying not to bang each other right next to me, and we finally reach our secret hiding spot. I have never seen two guys get out of a car faster than they have. I smile and almost laugh when my thoughts wander to Piper and Chase. My heart sinks and my mind eats me alive as I watch Leo scrape his butt on the ground like a dog and Percy do the seal stretch and then drag his crotch along the ground. Both trying to get rid of this encounter by scraping it from their being.

Even my fake smile loses its power as my face falls and the dark thoughts consume me. I turn and walk away from them, going deeper into the woods towards the cliff that sits on the other side.

From up here you can see the whole town. I sit down and watch as cars drive around the streets and people walk from shop to shop, completely oblivious to the three teenagers who look over them; and the fight that one of them can never win.
