I walked through the forest for about 20 miles until I came upon a rode , it was black and had yellow stripes on it . I felt a strange feeling of home , like I knew and trusted this world . I was still in what people would call a Victorian age dressing, with leather boots and clothes made of animal hide, I looked very out of place. I walked along the road side until a big metal box whizzed past me, I jumped, what was that. One of them stopped by me, the glass came down and I saw a short blond woman with hair that looked like it was a bird's nest " Well hi sweetie, you need a ride ?" the woman asked , she had an overly sweet voice , but also it seemed southern " Yes , but first can you tell be where we are , who you are , and what on earth your in ?" I asked now sounding quite frantic " Well sure , were just about to be in San Fransico, my name is Annebell Wilfer , and this is a car " she squealed " Come on in sweetheart " she said opening the passenger side door , I walked around the car and got in " Now what's your name ?" She asked " Alex " I said calmly " Well do you have a last name Alex?" she asked again" No" I said sourly ,I knew my last name but she didn't need too " Why ? are you an orphan?" she asked now interned " Something like that " I answered " Well ok then" she said going back to the same happy voice , she started the car and we started to drive towards this 'San Fransico' and Annebell talked and talked about everything and anything she could think of about the new world , while I just sat and listened . We drove for about 30 minutes until I saw a sign that said ' San Fransico , Paris of the West' after a few seconds I started to see more cars , then buildings , houses , condos, apartments, and I knew I was going to be happy here
After a short 5 more minutes of driving Annebell stopped and let me out on the side of the rode " Goodbye ! , good luck!" she exclaimed " Thank you " I smiled turning away from her , I was almost 17 now and that means I could get a job and start getting my life together . I felt good , but now I had to find a place to live and get a job . I had stolen money from the castle , just enough to place a down pay meant and one months rent of a small apartment I moved into the small home with the few thing I had . I slept for the next few days then decided to apply for a job at a big company { I don't know what I was thinking } but I went to the interview with no degree , no experience , and at age 17 . I walked into the office " Hi I'm Sue , please sit " She said , I walked toward the chair and sat . I was wearing a genuinely nice dress " Hi , I would love this job " " Yes-" her head fell limp and a second later she woke back up she eyes flushed white and then back to normal " You have the job " She smiled , I shake my head " Mhm what ? " I shuddered " You have the job sweetie , can you start Monday?" She smiled agian " Oh uh um Yes? " I shuddered I walked out of the room eyes wide . I stopped at the bus stop and waited until I saw Jack , are you serious , I crossed the street , snuck be hide him and took him into an alley way " What-the-hell-are-you-doing-here " I sneered choking him with my forearm against the wall " Darling sister " he smirked " One I'm not your sister and two what the hell do you want ?!" I snapped bringing my face closer to his , his head fell limp , eyes flashed white , back to normal " I was hear to take you back , but I don't want to go back because I like Baily , but I can't find her , and I don't want to turn you guys in and I-" he rambled fast then slapped his hand over his mouth . I slowly backed off of his neck " Why did I say that ?!!?" He screamed loudly " SHHHHHH " I whispered flailing my arms in the air " I don't know , and Baily ???" I questioned " I didn't put a spell on her and she still was ok with me " he ranted agian " Hesh talk about being pathetic " I giggled " Shut up , I made you trust me with in a day " He grinned " Yeah because of a stupid spell genius " I agian snapped " Oh whatever , I still want to know how you made me tell you what I was thinking " I stared " I told you , I don't know " I told him , he stopped for a minute or two then stared at me scared " Wait , did I like pass out , then my eyes turned white , then normal" He said puzzled " Yeeesss...." I grimaced " Ohhh crap!!!" " What " I said frantic " You got the gene " he said looking toward the ground " What gene !" I asked , it happened again head fell , eyes white , normal " The gene passed along the line of your mothers side of the family that skipped her and is now in you that gives you super natural abilities , for instance you have mind control , witch means that you can control people " he said swiftly and calmly " Yeah that " he shrugged " Well that's fun " I said now letting him off the wall " I can teach you things about it " he asked almost giving me the puppy dog eyes " Jack , are you actually serious , you betrayed me , and how do I know that you aren't going to run back and tell mommy dearest my location , and come jab my eyes out!!" I said with sacrarium in my voice a smirk on my lips " One mommy dearest is a horrible person , and two your just going to have to trust me " he groaned . Like I would trust him .
