As everyone departed from the ship, you and Steve walked side by side going outside.
He turned to you and awkwardly asked, "So whats your name kid?"
"Its alex." You have no idea what kind of person he really is. Fake name was the way to go.
"Well hello Alex, i'm Steve."
"Gathered that."
"Well we are gonna get you to the compound and you will get some fresh clothes and food, is that okay?"
You turned my head toward him and smiled fakely. You didn't want their help. You'd be fine without them. He did seem genuine but you weren't phased.
"So Alex," your name left his tongue like he had already known you for so long. "Why were you in Sokovia?"
You just looked at him and said, "I really don't want to talk about it. Kind of just wanna forget about it."
"That's fine. You don't have to. Just small talk."
"Okay, thanks. Captain America."
"Steve." He urged.
I laughed with the air from my nose.
He stopped walking and turned to you and said, "So you will come to the compound with us?"
"I can't, sorry." Obviously you're not actually sorry, but it's nice to say.
"Why not? You will be looked after there."
"No... I wont be safe there and neither will you or any of your friends." You looked at the ground, like that was helping avoid Steve's question.
"No? What do you mean? We are the Avengers."
"Yeah, no. Okay Captain? I just cant! Plus i literally just met you. Just because you are seen on the news being nice and helping people, doesn't mean that you are actually trust worthy."
"Why not?"
"OK, YOU WANT TO KNOW WHY I WAS IN SOKOVIA..." I looked up from the ground and paused. Captain was wide eyed. Now that i got his attention. "BECAUSE I RAN AWAY FROM MY ABUSIVE ADOPTIVE FATHER AND I THOUGHT I WAS FINALLY SAFE IN SOKOVIA. THEN YOU HAPPENED. BUT HE'S TRACKING ME AND ANYONE THAT IS WITH ME IS IN DANGER. SO NO I DON'T WANT TO COME TO THE TOWER WITH YOU, BECAUSE I'M A THREAT TO EVERYONE, OKAY?" You finished yelling at him and then flew up into the air before he could catch you.
"Alex come back, I'm sorry," Steve apologetically yelled as you rose into the sky.
