Since it was Friday night, I decided to finish all my homework now so I could chill out all of Saturday and Sunday. As my math textbook hit the table with a thud, I had a feeling this was going to be a very long night.

3 hours later

"Finally," I sighed as I slammed to book shut. My eyes gazed around my room until they landed on the clock, which read 10:25. Damn, it took me three hours to finish... that's ass. I decided to grab some ice cream and eat it out back. Getting up from my chair, I tip-toed down the steps so I didn't wake up my parents. They usually went to bed around 10:00 and weren't too happy to be woken up before they were ready.
Grabbing a bowl, I opened the freezer and scooped out my favorite flavor. I grabbed a spoon from the drawer and opened the sliding glass door that lead to the back deck. I sat down in my chair, opened my phone, threw on a song and started to eat. Lithium by Nirvana came on shuffle and I smiled to myself as the familiar tune began to play.
Calum's POV:
I sighed as I kicked the footy around in my back yard. I really missed my mates back home in Australia. I broke free from my daze as I heard Kurt Cobain's voice softly playing from next door. Walking over to the fence, I peeked through the cracks and saw that it was Aurora's phone that the music was coming from. I knocked on the fence, hoping to get an invite, or at least a response from her.
"Uhhhhh, hello?" she said in a quite but brave voice. I popped my head over the fence.
"Heyo Wentz. Mind if I come sit with you on this lovely eve we are having?" She looked at me like I had seven heads and tilted her head to the side. After a couple of seconds she seemed like she had made a decision.
"Yea sure. Just don't be super loud. My parents are asleep and I'd like to keep it that way." I launched myself over the fence and landed softly onto the ground. I walked over to the chair and sat down, making myself comfortable.
"So whats up Wentz?" I questioned.
"Nothing much," she said with a pause. "You know you can call me Rorey if you like. That's what my family usually calls me." As she spoke, she tucked a strand of her beautiful brown hair behind her ear. When she looked at me, her green eyes sparkled in the moonlight and I couldn't bring myself to look away.
"Ok Rorey. I have decided that it doesn't matter what Leah says, I still wanna be friends with you. I met her today in gym and she seems like a real bitch. She's not my type." She looked up at me with a glint of hope in her eyes and smiled. As quickly as the smile appeared, it disappeared and turned into a frown.
"She's gonna fucking kill me."
"No, I'm not gonna let that happen. I look out for my friends." She smiled again and took a bite of her ice cream.
"Well I hope you are ok with getting shunned and bullied by everyone in the school," she laughed.
I chuckled back. "It's gonna be fine. I've you to stick close to when things get hard." She looked so pretty in the moon light. Not that she didn't look good in the day light too but damn, the moon light did her justice.
