--YOUR POV; the weekend passed and now it's school again. you decided just to go straight to class because you had a headache, and your throat hurts so much from coughing and throwing up the past days.
-- NISHINOYA'S POV; i started to space out during practice. i realized the day after i took yuri out on a date that it was y/n's birthday that same day. i feel horrible since we've known each other for so long.
i was so caught up with my new girlfriend that i forgot my best friend's birthday.
'god! i feel so stupid,' i thought to myself.
"noya, are you good?" i felt a tap on my shoulder. i looked up to see sugawara hovering over me.
"yeah, i'm fine," i said with a short reply.
"it's y/n, huh?" he tilted his head.
"how'd you know?"
"well for starters, when i went over to give her a gift, she was crying. she told me you forgot her birthday.."
"she was crying?" i widened my eyes, "why was she crying over something like that?"
"nishinoya, you are her best friend."
"where is she?" i asked, "she hasn't come by this morning. did she not go to school?"
"maybe she's running a bit late," sugawara said, "but make sure you apologize and make it up to her."
"well obviously.." i sighed.

--YOUR POV; it's now lunchtime. you decided to just eat in the classroom. you only did this because of how tired you were. nishinoya probably would've invited yuri again. then you end up coughing and throwing up.
you didn't have the physical nor' mental strength to handle all that right now. so, with that being said, you pulled out your bento box and started eating.
eating by yourself was nice once in a while. you were scrolling mindlessly through your phone enjoying the time by yourself.
after finishing you decided to take the remainder of the time to lay your head down and rest a bit.

the school day was finally over. you got up and packed your stuff then started walking to the gym. you poked your head through the door. you saw everyone in there including yuri.
'i'll just leave for the day. my throat still hurts like hell and i don't feel like coughing to make it worse...' you thought.
you walked into the gym smiling at everyone, then walking over to noya and tapped his shoulder.
"hey y/n..." noya looked up. right now he was stretching.
"hey noya! i'm going home for the day," you said flatly.
"wait- uh, sorry about your birthday! i promise to make it up to you!" nishinoya got up and hugged you. you let go and stepped back.
"it's fine, you don't need to owe me. there's always next time. have fun at practice," you said. you didn't even know if there's a next time. "tell sugawara and the others i'm going home for today."
and with that, you turned around and walked home for the day.
