17: who are you?

"Uday, please eat some lunch," Manav said to a grieving Uday, his shoulders were slumped and his face sad, Manav never wanted to see his friend this defeated.

All of them started eating when a beeping sound was heard across the room, Uday and everyone else frantically looked around to find the heartbeat monitor beeping.

Uday immediately sprung from his chair to press the emergency button, no one understood what was happening.
In flash doctors and nurses came in, they pushed away all the people out to check up on the patient.

Uday felt nothing, his body was numb he defeated sat onto the chair.

"Raja Sa" came the voice of the doctor.

"she has woken up, Princess Manyata is up," the doctor said and smiled he knew Princess Manyata is an important person and if he could not have saved her it would be a shame.

"can we meet her," asked Kritika, longing to see her friend.

"you may but one at a time, it can be overwhelming for her to visit so many of you" replied the doctor.

The first one to visit was Kritika then Kanika and then, at last, it was the turn of Uday, Uday had already messaged Raja and Rajmata they also were on their way to the hospital.

Uday went inside the room, Manyata was  in her white hospital clothes, she was looking down at her hands on which the IV was attached.

"they will be taken off soon," said Uday, he was not sure how should he start the conversation.

"hmmm," she replied.

Manyata was yet to be revealed her truth, that her parents were not hers, that she was no other than the Princess of Devgarh.

"How are you feeling?" he asked.

"Okay," she said almost with no voice, Uday took it as a sign of weakness, he made a mental note to discuss this with the doctors.

"you will be fine soon, don't worry" he tried to comfort her, she seemed indifferent more closed off than other days.

"I won't be" she blurted out.

"huh?' 

"I won't be, Prince!" She screamed and started crying, Uday couldn't understand her outburst, did she found out about the truth and how?

"all was a lie, all of it, my whole life!" she continued screaming.

Uday was taken aback he tried to console her. Her eyes flooded with tears which she was holding in for so long, her hair which was made into a sleek bun came undone, her straight hair fell wildly onto her shoulders.

She looked as if her life was falling apart.

"Princess.." he tried to hold her hand.
"Don't.... Don't I am not a Princess.... I am not" she hissed.
Uday was taken a back he never saw her talking so roughly, her who was always soft spoken was literally on the verge of cussing him.

Soon doctors and others rushed in.

Uday and others were pushed outside to stabilize Manyata.

"Uday what happened, why was she so agitated, what did you say?" Asked the King.

"I don't know baba sa, I said nothing" He was confused.
Uday knew there was a possibility she heard everything about her existence and reality, maybe she heard them talking.

"Did she.." came a suggestion from Kritika, her own voice bottled up thinking of that possibility.

"She is sleeping now!" Said the Doctor.

"Her BP was very high, and blood sugar down, we need to monitor her for another 24 hours" he explained.
Uday nodded,  doctor asked Uday to come along for some paper work which he obliged.

Rajmata was Pacing in the room, she had called her Son the official king of Devgarh a while back when she knew of Manyata's existence but he was stuck in England due to a  storm.
She wanted to talk to Manyata about her existence and the sad reality of her fake parents.

"Namaskar Rajmata ji" said the head doctor

"Namaskar doctor sahab" she said respectfully.

"How is Manyata, is her mental state stable?"

"Yes, she is stable now, but I might refrain you from making her feel extreme emotions that may drain her out!" He said

"Ji doctor"

Rajmata opened the door to the VIP ward, she was Nervous, she had fair share of nerve wracking experience from the past but this one was the hardest.

She found Manyata sitting onto the bed fully cladded in white, her face sunken in, he lips chapped, her eyes had no glow or life in them, she saw a defeated girl in Manyata.

Rajmata quietly sat down on the chair next to her bed and looked at what Manyata was looking outside the window, a girl was  trying to get her balloon out of the bushes but she was too short to get hold of the String.

"Maybe we should help her" Rajmata offered

Manyata did not answered, she was exhausted she wanted everyone to leave her but the lady sitting beside her wasn't talking any hint.

"Don't you think that girl is simmilar to you in many aspects?" Said Rajmata this caught the intrest of Manyata and for the first time she faced the lady who was desperately trying to talk to her.

"How?" Her voice came a bit wavered.

"Isn't she also holding onto something which will either burst into pieces or will float away with the next big wind.

Manyata kept quiet for a while.

"I don't think so, from my prospective, she is holding onto the only piece of happiness she has, a girl who needs to be at the hospital at such a young age don't you think herself is desperate to hold onto something that will soothe the pain" Manyata said confidently looking into the eyes of Rajmata.

Rajmata smiled widely at her answer, she was proud of her answer, she was just the right Princess.

Soon they heard the little girl giggling, both Rajmata and Mayata looked around to find her running away with the balloon, there stood Uday with his hands in the pockets smiling, he was the one who solved the problem.

"And maybe to the road of happiness we need someone to help us out, maybe someone will help you soothe the pain and bring happiness to you" said Rajmata.

Manyata was mesmerized, looking at Uday, who had no idea that someone was staring at him.
As soon as she heard the lady talking her heart skipped a beat, is Uday really a way to her Happiness!?

She turned towards the lady and asked her the much awaited question!

"Who are you?"

I know I know I kind of died for months, sooorrrryyyyyyyyy....
At first I was busy with school work, then after a while I lost my will to write.

This chapter was due since so many months but I was tooo lazy to write but I swear I will complete this book with regular updates.
