Please don't get mad at me. I had to! It's a freaking Wattpad story! *insert sobbing emoji*

"This the place?" Aiden asked my mom for confirmation. She looked at the sign a few yards over and nodded, "Looks like it."

"It's heavily locked," Landon warned us.

Liberty and Landon were in a van parked 2 blocks away, making sure that my mom, Aiden, and I got out of here before Ivan arrived.

"That's why we brought Aiden," I said in a duh-tone.

"Really? I thought it was because-" my mom shut up when I glare at her.

"Anyways," Landon brought us back on topic, "you probably have 20 minutes until Ivan gets there."

"Got it," I confirmed and made a move toward the building. I almost took one step until Aiden pulled me back. "Look- there's a laser right there," he pointed down.

I squinted to see it and realized he's right. "Oh, shit. Thanks,"

"How do we disarm it?" he asked.

"That's your job," my mom handed him a bunch of lock picking tools.

"Oh," he looked unsure of himself.

"You'll be fine," I attempted to encourage him.

"That's the best you got?" my mom scoffed. "You really are your father's daughter,"

"No shit. You did run off once you divorced dad and only visited twice every year. Not to mention I thought you were dead for the last 3 years," I snapped back.

My mom took a double-take and I saw the regret in her eyes.

"Can you guys do that later? Trying to concentrate here," Aiden nervously chuckled.

"We're not finished with this conversation," my mom whispered to me.

"Done," Aiden saved me from answering.

"Let's go," I took the lead and we walked to the front door where another set of locks (more difficult to open) await us.

"How long for these?" my mom looked at Aiden who was already starting his process.

"Not long. I'm used to opening these,"

Mom and I exchanged astonished glances.

"Don't look so surprised," Aiden muttered sarcastically while he's picking the locks.

We waited for a few more minutes until Aiden finished. "Done."

I let my mom lead us and closed my hand tightly around my dagger in case we needed it.

"It's dusty- meaning no one's been in here for a while," I murmured.

"Or they might have wanted it to look like that so no one gets suspicious," Aiden pointed out from behind me while I looked out the shattered window.

"True," I shrugged and glanced at my mom to see if she found anything.

"What's that?" I walked over to her with Aiden following me. She was reading a piece of paper with a confused expression.

"Oh, that," I said once I finished reading it. It was the same list Aiden and I managed to take from Ivan.

"It's that list we told you about," Aiden explained.

"Did yours have bloodstains all over it?" my mom asked.

"No,"

"I don't think it's much though," I said and looked around us.
