Chapter 5 - Friends? [III]

His POV

Let me see, maybe she's in my friend list in one of the games i play? But i don't usually add people in games as friends unless they are really good and even if i did add her, I'm pretty sure i would've remembered her nickname. Well, i guess there's only one way to find out.

I took out my phone and started looking through all the friend list i have in each game. However, i just could not find it but i swear i have seen it before. Weird... maybe I'll just search up her nickname on the internet. If she's here to participate in this event, I'm pretty sure she's got to be a top ranker in some games.

Y/N POV

Oh god, how am i messing up so badly when the event has not even started. My luck has just been horrible and my anxiety is not helping at all. First i get lost, then a random dude just insulted my comfort clothes. Next thing i knew, i threw a drink at him and pushed him all the way to the womans' bathroom. Then now I'm stuck here with a couple displaying their affection publicly with no shame and a guy that probably thinks I'm weird.

Nothing is just going the way i planned. Well I'm glad that this event covers our real identity which also means i will never see anyone again after this event and most importantly, no one would recognise me and the embarassing things i did. Man do i really just want to just go home and hide under my blankets...

"Ladies and gentlemen, thank you for participating in this event. The event will now begin!" The mc announced from the stage with lights from all direction shining on him.

"I will now explain the event. We will be choosing the next top three gamers for this year and of course, by elimination method. To make this process faster, we have decided to group all of you in fours so elimination would be faster. I will now give all of you 1 minute to form pairs in your group. Choose wisely as your pairing will go a long way! " The mc continued.

I'm sorry, did i just hear pair? I turned back my attention to the people in my group. Of course the couple would be together. I guess its settled then, ill be pairing with the guy that thinks im weird.

I turned to look at him and our eyes met. His eyes were the most beautiful pair of eyes I've ever seen, almost like a cats'. It's so mesmerising that i could look at it all day without noticing I've been staring at it and that's exactly what happened.

Before i knew it, we both have been staring at each other for a good 5 seconds before we both turned away from each other. I guess I'll take it as we both already sort of agreed to be pairs? I mean not like we have any options here.

Now that i think about it, i don't even know his nickname. Let me see... applepi? Wait, i swear I've seen this name somewhere before... Don't tell me he was the random guy in my contact which i don't remember who it is?

I quickly whipped out my phone and checked. Indeed, applepi was the mystery number saved in my contacts whom i don't remember who it is. I never really cared about it since that contact has never bothered me but now im curious... Maybe i should ask mother when i get home.

"Alright, that's one minute and hopefully your group of fours have splitted into two pairs! Your first game will be involving the playstation and ghe game is none other than...Overcook! This game will be testing your cooperation skills so hopefully the partner you chose is someone whom you work with well!"

" Your stations are displayed here on our visualiser according to your groups! Do get to your stations as the event will truly start soon in 5 minutes! Maybe you can even use the time wisely to know more about your partners. Off you all go! " The mc said.

Let's see... our group is 28 and our assigned station is... 17. Let's check on the map where station 17 is. Level 1 somewhere in the middle near the toilet i was in previously. I guess we'll have to go there together then.
