Only Ashes Will Remain When I'm Done

"Answer me!" Endeavor grabbed Touya's outstretched arm, gripping the already injured limb so tightly Touya cried out in pain.

Touya didn't say anything for a moment, not wanting Endeavor's attention to turn over to his wife, but when the pressure around his arm increased, feeling his bones creak and grind together, he shouted. "Let go of me! I didn't do anything!"

Endeavor didn't seem to like that answer though, because he just gripped harder. "Then how did Shouto get burned!"

Touya opened his mouth to answer but then he caught a flash of white in his peripheral vision. He thought of his mother, of what this "hero" would do to his mother, and clenched his mouth shut.

Endeavor, having seen the motion, clenched the thin, bloody, and bruised arm harder, feeling the bones underneath his palm grind together. "Answer me before I do something you won't like boy!" When Touya made no move to answer, the Number Two Hero snapped the arm in two.

Touya screamed in agony, trying to pull his arm back to cradle against his chest but Enji just gripped harder causing liquid fire to shoot up Touya's arm.

"Dad, stop! Please!"

Focusing on his sister's voice, begging and pleading with their father to let him go, he got his breathing under control.

"Fuyumi, take Shouto and go," Touya grit out, trying to hold back his screams of agony.

"But-" Fuyumi said even as she ran around their father to hug Shouto close to her, their youngest brother's tiny hands clinging on to her, pain forgotten in his fear.

"You won't do anything of the sort!" The number two hero roared as he dropped Touya, letting him fall to the floor in a crumpled heap, as he went to grab Fuyumi and Shouto.

Forgetting his pain, Touya let his quirk burn the ground, blocking his siblings from Enji's reach and getting Enji to focus on him again.

"Fuyumi, get Shouto out of here now!" He yelled as stood up, clutching his burnt and broken arm close to his chest, activating his quirk again. "Don't you think that instead of thinking of who to blame, you should be worried about your six-year-old son?" He said to his father, trying to distract him from the two others in the room, the heat of his flames warming his back uncomfortably.

It was the wrong thing to say to an easily angered, volatile man, but since when did Touya do anything right?

The flames that always seemed to surround his father grew and, though Touya was beyond petrified of the man in front of him, hearing the soft footfalls of his siblings running away from the kitchen and to Touya's room, most likely for the first aid kit that was there, made it worth it. He could breathe a little easier now, ignoring the ashes that tried to make their home in his lungs.

Touya charged at his father but the man just threw him down, causing Touya to land on the broken arm and Touya could swear he heard something break again beyond the ringing in his ears. He went to get up again, throw a punch, do something, but his vision was getting hazy.

How hard had Enji thrown him?

Enji pulled him up, screaming at him to tell him what had happened to "his masterpiece", and of course, because Enji was the farthest thing from a hero, he pulled him up using Touya's broken arm, agony radiating through the limb. Touya screamed, blue fire filling his vision, burning his face and arms, neck, anywhere they could reach. Enji threw him back down to get the flames away from him, kicking him in the ribs repeatedly, screaming, "what did you do!?" over and over as Touya's quirk died down again.

It was too much, Touya couldn't take anymore, he was going to pass out or die or- or- Touya didn't know but he didn't want to find out.

Blue flames burst out once again, trying to get the source of his pain to go away before he heard a shout.

"Stop! It was- it was Mom! Stop hurting Touya-nii! Please!" Natsuo screamed at the top of his lungs, tears streaming down his face.

Enji turned to face Natsuo, the son he neglected more so than the others, with the look of a predator. "What did you say?" He asked in a voice containing a quiet fury.

"It- it was Mom," Natsuo whispered even as Touya motioned for him to stop, their mom couldn't handle Enji's abuse anymore so please just don't say anything Nastuo.

Touya grabbed Enji's leg as he moved to leave the kitchen and go to Rei's bedroom. Enji just stepped on Touya's broken arm with no small amount of force, causing Touya to let go, agony shooting through him.

Natsuo hid behind the wall as their father stalked away, thundering footsteps echoing throughout the house, before he ran to Touya, crying over him as he looked over the damage their father caused him.

Touya tried to comfort Natsuo but he couldn't process anything beyond the white-hot pain radiating through his body and the screams coming from both of his parents, one filled with anger, the other with pain and fear.

Sorry I've been gone for a while. I was writing fanfics for others for a while and it got pretty toxic and I hated writing so I, and my sister, decided that I needed to take a step back from writing for a while. Then, when I felt like I could write again, I had a lot of summatives and stuff to deal with and then I tried out a new genre.

I'm an angst writer but I really like this song and wanted to write a fanfic for it, it's a romance fic, and let me tell you, romance is something I struggle writing, probably cause I've never seen a relationship actually work out in real life but whatever I guess.

It's kind of nice to get out of my comfort zone sometimes, especially if I actually want to write a different genre and I'm not being forced to.

I'm kinda upset though, I wanted to have a chapter out for the big reveal of Dabi being Touya. Sorry about that and that the chapter is kinda short. I'm not really good at writing violence.

Anyways, I hope you guys liked the chapter and thanks for all of the comments, they really do make me feel better. Touya deserves so much better than Enji. All of the Todoroki's do. I don't care if he's trying to change, it doesn't get rid of all of the pain he's caused them for so much of their lives.

Also, last thing I promise, just wanted to say that this chapter and the chapter before it was inspired by two fanfics on ao3 called Touya the Stranger by HushabySweetheart and Disconnection by Neurotoxin. They're both really good fanfics that you guys should check out.

And now, I promise I'm done. Thanks for reading!
