Why do I feel like this? Like I'm lost.

I look at him and I wonder if you could ever be mine.

But I know that it's impossible, since you love someone else

Veteran was in his room, looking at the ceiling. It was night, he couldn't sleep, no matter how hard he tried.

He took his phone and checked the notifications, Player texted him a few hours ago, but he didn't respond. He just didn't feel like it.

He started looking at his phone, ignoring the message. He felt sorry for not responding, but he felt like he was a burden for his 'best friend'

A few hours has passed and Veteran still wasn't asleep. He begun to hear the birds outside his window, and he even saw a little sight of the sun dawning.

Veteran put his phone on the desk near his bed and looked trough the window, looking at the beautiful view of the sun, till he heard the alarm clock from his phone.

It was time for him to go to school, he sighed and got up from his bed going in the bathroom. He looked in the mirror.

"I look like shit" He thought to himself, looking at his reflection.

His hair was all messy, and his face had big bags under the eyes, though the sleepless nights.
He prepared for school, trying to hide the tiredness on his face and combing his hair.

He picked up his school bag and exited his house, looking at the ground. I wasn't ready to see Player and using the usual excuse for not responding him. 'Sorry for not responding, I was tired and I went to sleep early, like always'

That was what he always said to him, followed by a fake laugh, for not worrying his friend.

He arrived near the entrance of the school, and he soon saw Player. He had ginger hair, and wore a beanie, green eyes, and he had freckles on his face. A t-shirt and a pair of jeans. He was looking at his phone.

Veteran didn't want to disturb him, but he had to look like nothing happened. Acting confident with him

"Hey Player" Veteran said, waving his hand "Oh hey Vet! You went to sleep early again yesterday? I saw you didn't respond to my messages anymore" Player said, knowing the usual excuse Veteran used.

Player knew something was off, every time he didn't respond to him, it was because he went to sleep. He heard this sentence so much that he understood that it wasn't true

"Yeah" Veteran responded, laughing a bit. Player looked at his friend, worried. He felt like that laugh wasn't a true one. He felt like he was... faking it.

The bell rang and it was time for them to begin the classes. They were in two different classes now, so they have to separate each other and go in thei respective classes.

All of Player's thoughts were on Veteran. He was worried and he was planning on talking to him about it. They used to text every day after school, but lately, Player was the only one who was texting, while Veteran responded to his messages very rarely. Sometimes he wouldn't even respond for days, and Player could only get to see him at school.

Why it was like this though? Maybe because Player started dating someone? Player would never leave his best friend behind for someone else.

While he was lost in his thoughts, he heard the teacher calling him "Player are you paying attention to class? It seems like you're distracted" Player nodded, even though he wasn't paying attention to a single thing "good, because next week we're having a test."

He sighed and tried to pay attention now. Still worried for what was happening.

Player's class was over as the bell rang, he went towards his locker. A taller figure walked towards him.

He had green eyes and white hair, he was pretty tall, compared to the brown-haired male. Player soon recognized who that person was "heya Player" it was Captain, his boyfriend.

"Hey Captain, what's up?" Player said smiling at him "All good. Do you want to come over today?" Captain said as he took the books from his locker

"Yeah, maybe I should make it" Captain smiled at Player, but as soon as he saw Veteran passing by, his smile faded. There was something in that boy, that he couldn't stand.

Player turned around and saw him, walking towards him, with Captain by his side. He wanted to know, what was happening.

Veteran looked at the duo and felt a little uncomfortable seeing Captain. "Vet, can I talk to you for a minute?"

Veteran looked at him a little confused 'what did I do? Did I do something wrong?' He kept thinking, he was scared that Player would just leave him alone. More alone that he already was.
