TW: Mentions of panic attacks, Mute!Morgan

It's been 1 year, 3 months, and 6 days since Tony sacrificed himself for those he loved.

It's been 1 year, 3 months and 2 days since Tony's funeral. The same one Peter and Morgan both had to say goodbye to their father.

It's been 11 months, 2 weeks, and 3 days since Peter met Morgan for the first time since the funeral. He couldn't bare to look into the same eyes he just said goodbye to four months ago. He couldn't see that smile, that same smile from the same mouth that called him 'son' on more than one occasion.

It's been 6 months, 3 weeks, and 1 day since Peter has gotten a panic attack at the thought of Morgan being in his life. At least, the last one he told anyone about.

It's been 3 months, 1 week, and 4 days since Peter has been left alone with Morgan for the first time. He was always scared his Parker Luck would cause something to happen if he let himself get too close to the small Tony look-alike.

It's been 1 week since Pepper asked the lanky teen to babysit for the weekend. She didn't trust a babysitter for the entire weekend and Peter didn't have anything going on.

Now it's ten minutes until he arrives at the lake house. His anxiety is getting the best of him, his hands shaking wildly. He hasn't been to Tony's house since the funeral.

Thoughts of turning around and telling Pepper he had to cancel churning through his head as he drives. But he keeps going. He has to do this eventually. No point in trying to hide from this forever.

He pulls up in the driveway and sits in the vehicle for a few more minutes. One last attempt to calm his racing heart and clear his head.

Taking a shaky breath, he steps out of the car. After the short walk up to the front door, he knocks. This is it, he thinks, no turning back now.

Pepper opens the door, a look of relief washes across her face upon seeing Peter.

The mother pulls Peter into a tender hug and welcomes him inside. She leads him to the dinning room where the table is covered in neat stacks of papers. Pepper is filing them into a brief case, making small talk to Peter for a short while.

Peter has calmed down some. Hands no longer shaking so wildly. Something about the essence of Pepper is enough to calm any of his anxieties.

That calm faded soon enough when the redhead got very serious very quickly. The mother gestured for Peter to sit across from her at the table. His leg started bouncing quickly with the rising tension in the room. "There are a few things I need to tell you about Morgan before I leave," Pepper takes an inhale of breath, her eyes filled with tears she tried desperately to hold back.

Peter nods, not sure how else to respond in this situation.

"She hasn't been herself recently. She doesn't talk to us anymore. She won't even leave her room." At this point Pepper is crying. Dabbing her eyes with a tissue, she takes another shaky breath. "I just want to see her smile again. I miss my baby."

Peters throat closes, he gulps, trying to push his nerves down to comfort the distressed mother. He knows what it's like, not feeling in control when you so desperately crave to have that normalcy back again.

The anxious teen assures Pepper that he'll try to get through to Morgan.

After a few more moments of talking, Happy walks through the door. It was time for Pepper to leave and place Morgan in Peter's care for the weekend.

Pepper walks to the bottom of the stairs and calls for Morgan. After a moment, the six year old trudges down the stairs, holding her Spiderman action figure she had gotten for her fifth birthday. She looks from Pepper to Peter with skeptical eyes. The same eyes Tony had. Peters heart twinges just looking at this child.
