I remember when there was a time
When I would sit in a chair
In the corner of the room
You would slightly awaken
And ask if I was okay
Just can't sleep I'd say
Then you'd pat the bed and say
Come here then love
I'd lay myself next to you
As you'd wrap your arms around me
Holding me tight against your chest
Making me safe while you slept
I remember those times
Yet they are no more
Now you sleep with your back turned
Not stirring one bit
As I get up from the bed
Unable to sleep

So very loved
But now they are but distant memories
