As he led her up to her room in the bright castle, Ezra fell deep into thought. Deep down she felt that this whole situation was unfair to her, in fact to most women.
An arranged marriage, forced away from home to go stay with a man you don't even know, just to please him and be a lady, constantly obeying and smiling and waving. It's the norm for a royal lady to be saved by a prince even when she doesn't need saving...
They took a sharp turn and she ran into the corner a bit, causing her to be a bit dazed after getting snapped out of her own thoughts and falling into the wall.
"Oh my, are you alright?" Rowan said, trying to sound sincere. He might have succeeded if he hadn't mumbled under his breath, "maybe if you weren't so far up in the clouds you wouldn't have hit the corner.. " He might have trailed on if Ezra didn't speak.
"Oh yes I'm okay, just a bit clumsy today I suppose." She said lightly, dusting herself off a bit and smiling up at the prince. They started walking again, and after about five minutes of strolling through the long limestone hallways of the castle they were at her room. The sight took her breath away, bright blues and golds and greens decorated her room. A queen size bed sat upon the back wall with velvety forest sheets and a fluffy white duvet. The gold covered pillows glittered bright in the sun shining through the stained windows. There were gold curtains halfway across the windows that caused sparkles to dance around the room as the trees swayed in the wind. Her bed posters had beautiful, ocean blue, mesh drapes drawn to them. The bright gold chandelier in the middle of the tall room truly brought it all together.
"My god... It's beautiful.. " Ezra said astounded. Rowan just smiled, and spoke from right behind her as he trailed her around the room, "It was tailored to your tastes dear. My father had it prepared accordingly. "
Ezra looked at him softly, suddenly he didn't seem so irritated.
"I'll have to thank him for doing such a lovely job, I'm sure I'll feel at home here quite quick. " She said gently to the prince.
He looked at her with a bit of intrigue, it seemed as though she had piqued his interest.
"What's wrong? " Ezra said to Rowan, looking up into his eyes. He towered over her a bit.
"Nothing.. " He said quickly, still staring at her nearly fascinated. She saw the wheels turning in his head. She was eager to find out what he was thinking, but it seemed as though he didn't feel like sharing his thoughts.
He turned towards the door, "Be ready in an hour for the wedding announcement dear. " He said almost distastefully. 'What was his problem?' Ezra thought. She spoke just as gently as she always had, but with a little more edge this time. "I'll be down in time. "
He walked out and closed the door, leaving Ezra to her thoughts as she readied herself. She began by checking her closet, and as she looked through the lavish and luxurious dresses she wondered why the prince was always changing the tone of his voice. She couldn't tell if he hated her, maybe he didn't like the way she looked, after all most people didn't like her dark hair in a kingdom that prized red hair. 'Maybe the problem is my eyes.' She thought sadly. She had one blue eye and one green eye. I'm sure you'd think it was cool, but many people didn't appreciate a change in eye color. She reached for a green ball gown dress, laced with complex gold trim. A black gilded tiara was sitting on her desk. The aqua jewels glittered in the sun. Ezra grabbed the dress and put it on, the corset was difficult to put on alone but she managed. She put on the mascara and eyeliner left for her, and then applied the muave lipstick that was also left. The sun was high in the sky and the princess promptly put on her tiara and high gold heels and zipped off to find the king and prince, she didn't want to be late.
