"What do you think you're doing young lady?" my fathers voice bellowed as he stood up running his hand through his greying hair

"dad, calm down he is just a friend" I whispered looking down at my raggedy boots

"hun, I'm happy you finally made another friend, but why with a boy like that, we were happy when you got rid of Victoria, so why go back?" my mom said sheepishly from the couch

"because he's the only person that wants to talk to me" I whispered again

"well, he isn't the type of boy we want you with!" my father screamed again "what did you two go and get up to anyways, are you pregnant now!" he screamed causing me to flinch

"well dad if I was I don't think I would know this early" I said quietly

"what did you just say?" he said rubbing his temple, his nostrils flaring out "we don't want you hanging around him anymore Maggie, he isn't good for you" he said more calmly this time

"no, you know what dad I am going to see him again because he's a friend it's been so hard for me to make them, and once I get one of course you want to rip them from my grasp, so you know what, I will see him again!" I screamed, the volume of my own voice surprising me, suddenly my dad was in front of me, his eyes wide and face red, there was a stinging sensation on the side of my cheek, and the force from his hand caused my head to turn completely to the left.

"You will not talk to me like that" is all he said before walking off into the kitchen, my mom sat shocked but did nothing, I opened the door and walked out not caring what my punishment would be.

I was walking the empty streets of my neighborhood, the sound of the wind running through the tree's and the smell of the chill surrounding me, I found a park close by and sat down on a damp swing, not wanting to go back to my house.

Was finding a friend really so bad, just because he had tattoo's and piercings, was it so bad? Suddenly I heard footsteps in the distance, I pulled my jacket closer to me as the cold was seeping through, and thinking it might count as protection from whoever was walking this way. As I was looking the other way the swing besides me squeaked under the weight of someone, as I turned I saw brown curly hair and green eyes staring back at me, his body covered in a leather jacket making him look more attractive than ever.

"What are you doing here?" Harry questioned kicking a stray rock with his foot, his tongue running over the silver ring stuck in his lip-something I have found he does a lot-his eyebrows knitted together causing that piercing to move with it

"well, my dad told me not to see you anymore because you were going to be a bad influence, slapped me then continued to treat it like nothing" I said shrugging, but tears were close to falling

"do you want a lift back to your place, it's getting quite cold" Harry said seeming to be trying to steer the conversation away from my father that hit me for the first time in his whole life

"I'm not going back there" I said bitterly

"where do you expect to stay, here on this swing?" Harry said as a joke

"possibly" I shrugged "maybe in the slide, who knows" I said seriously

"alright, come one" Harry said standing up and grabbing my arm
