Toko POV

I walk into the library and set a book on the turn in counter
"This is three hundred pages, how did you read it in one day?" I look at the young man standing at the counter, his red eyes piercing through mine, I shrug "did you actually read all of this?" He interrogated
"I- Uh-"
"It's not good to pretend to read, girl."
"Leave her alone Ishimaru" I recognize that voice I spin my head to look at the Blonde boy sitting in a chair across from the counter, his eyes locked on his book "she probably just has nothing else to do" Ishimaru doesn't believe Togami but he puts the book away nonetheless

"Uh, master?"
"What" his tone is ice cold
"Th-thank you..."
"Tsk" he rolls his eyes "does it look like I care?"
"N-no..."
"Care to explain why you're still here Fukawa?" He looks up at me, his blue eyes sending a burning sensation through my body
"I- I Uhm..."
"Go away"
"Yes master" I frantically scramble away to a bookshelf

Byakuya POV

I look back at my book, trying to ignore my heart pounding in my ears, I try to keep reading but I feel my mind wander, I remember the fluttering sensation when our eyes met, her beautiful eyes... I catch myself and focus on my book that's stupid, I shouldn't think about anyone that way I finally give up and close my book, sighing the only reason I should be infatuated with someone is to continue the Togami bloodline, there's no way To- Fukawa would be a viable candidate to do that I open my eyes and catch a glimpse of the braided girl peeking at me from around the corner, granted I've never been interested in someone in that way she quickly shrinks behind the bookshelf but that's not my decision to make a loud ring disrupts my train of thought, it's time for class damn, I must have lost track of time

"get to class everyone" Ishimaru sounds more like a drill sergeant than a hall monitor, I sigh and lift myself from the chair as I hear a loud crash followed by a quiet swear, I spin my head to where the noise came from and see several books on the floor and Fukawa pulling her braid away from the shelf

"fukawa." she jumped, squeaking and looking over at me, her cheeks dusting a light pink
"y- yes?"
"care to explain what happened?"
"w- well I- I- well-" she stumbles over her words, her eyes dancing in between her braid, the bookshelf, and the small pile of books on the ground "my- my braid got- my braid got caught-"
I crouch down and pick up one of the books, putting it back on the shelf

I sigh, picking up another book as Toko picks up her glasses
"Looks like we're going to be late to class"
"Y- you don't have to" she frantically grabs a book off the floor, slamming it into the shelf "I'll clean up o- on my own"
"No, no" I pick up another book "it's my fault this happened"
"What?" She leans down again "n- no it's not, I was the one who knocked the books off"
"No, I'm the one that shooed you away" I hlnce at the clock "we should hurry up so we get to class at all"
"Y- yes master" she began hurriedly putting books back, occasionally having to pause when her glasses would fall down her nose

I don't know why, but every time she pauses I have to fight the urge to watch her push the glasses back up her nose She's so breathtaking

She slips the last book on the shelf as I check the clock We're ten minutes late I turn back to her
"Done?"
"She nods"
"We're ten past"
"Oh no, my moms gonna kill me" my parents are going to be very mad as well
"Don't worry, they won't tell our guardians unless we're over fifteen minutes late" she looks up at me quizzically
"It's a seven minute walk though"
"Correct" I glance around "however, if you promise not to tell anyone, I can cut it to four"
She hesitantly nods and I grab her hand "we run" she lets out a surprised squeak as I start sprinting out of the library and down the hall

I stop running once We're at the door of the classroom next to ours, she hunches over, catching her breath, I straighten up
"Wait a while before walking in, I don't want to be seen with you" she can't offer an answer but she nods and I spin on my heel, walking towards the classroom door with as much faux confidence as I can muster...
