Toko POV

I'm under the overhang watching everyone else leave, their umbrellas keeping them dry from the pouring rain She chased me out of the house this morning, I barely got to grab my bag, my umbrella was forgotten though I put my bag over my head and start walking

The rain stops hitting my face and the pattering of rain on an umbrella draws my attention
"Did you forget your umbrella?" I jump and spin around, almost slipping on the mud before looking up at him

He looks at me, his expression is about how it normally looks, but there's something different, his eyes, they look softer, kinder, than usual
"Y- Yes" he shakes his head
"Your going to catch a cold"
"I'll be okay" he thought for a second
"I'll walk you home" my heart starts roaring
"Wh- what? You don't need to!"
"I insist"
"N- no it's okay" I don't know what mood any of the parents will be in, I don't want to risk them screaming in front of him
"Just let me walk you home Fukawa"
"I-"
"Go"

I swallow my complaints and begin walking, him close behind me please, just let them be out, or passed out, or high something so that they don't ruin his impression of me I continue on my normal rout more than seeing the house will

We turn into my neighborhood
"You- you can just drop me off here"
"Is this your house?" His tone remains flat
"W- well... no... but-"
"I'm walking you HOME Fukawa" I snap my mouth shut, not wanting to spend the effort on arguing
"Yes master"

He closes the umbrella and I look up I didn't even realize it had stopped raining
"Well?" I look back at him
"Oh yeah, this way" the front isn't that bad, sure the paint is chipping, the glass is broken and the grass is all dead but in comparison to the inside, it's pretty good I gulp as we get closer to the home at least there's not dry blood and vomit everywhere

I can see the confusion on his face when I stop in front of my house
"Forgive me but, your house is a mess"
"Yeah sorry about that" I turn towards him "my parents are always working so we don't really have time to fix anything" Hopefully the lie isn't too obvious
"Mm" he looks back to me
"Thank you for walking me home!" I flash him a grin
"Of course" he pushes his glasses up his nose "I assume I'll see you tomorrow" I nod sheepishly
"Have a good rest of your day"
"You too" he takes one final look at my house before walking away

I walk inside, mom and dad are passed out in the living room
"Welcome home bitch" my feet give out under me as my step mom tugs on my braid and I fall to the floor, she barely acknowledges my existence as she walks past me, scrounging the table

I feel myself start to dissociate and jump into motion, staving off the switch as much as I can as I dart up to my room and lock the door, hiding the key so Syo can't get out, before finally succumbing to the switch
