A few months later Hank and Melody are working on a case with SVU and it's a tough one "in their right mind would rape a five year old? Because this...this isn't right, this isn't...fair" Melody said while fighting back tears as Hank put his hand on her's "Hank I'm sorry I-I can't stay on this case, I just can't" she said as she swallowed a lump in her throat "It's ok, we're gonna catch this bastard, and don't worry it's a tough one, I understand" Hank said as he pulled her until a hug, Melody quickly hugged him back gripping onto the back of his jacket "So when's Olivia Benson and Fin Tutuola supposed to get here from new York?' she asked "their on their way as we speak, if you need some time off do so I know how hard this case is for you, we can take care of it" Hank said as Melody nuzzles against him "How did I get so lucky to have a man like you?" She asked with a soft smile. "Seriously? I'm the lucky one, but just take care of yourself if you need someone to talk to I'm here baby girl" Hank said as he squeezed her tighter a moment later she Kisses him deeply, sweetly and passionately as the kiss becomes more heated and passionate "Hey save it for the bedroom you two" Antonio said as Melody flipped him off. "He's going to desk duty" Hank growled then laughed "but he's right, we should save it for tonight" Hank said with a wink as she playfully smacks his chest with the back of her hand. "What? I'm kidding" he kissed her cheek as his phone dinged, he pulls out his phone and checks it. "It's Olivia, they just landed and are going to the station so we should head back" Hank said as him and Melody get in their truck "Hank, there's something important I need to tell you" she has a flashback of her dr appointment

~Flashback~
"So, how am I doc?" Melody asked ss she sits on the examination table "Well Miss. Knight, the test have come in and it doesn't look promising, your chances of barring a child are almost slim to none" the dr said

~end of flashback~

"What is it?" Hank asked a little nervous. Melody takes a deep breath and slowly exhale as she tells him what the Dr said about her chances of barring a child are. "I didn't know you wanted to have kids with me" Hank said but he could tell Melody was pretty sad about what the Dr said, "But we can try and see what happens because you never know, miracles happen all the time and if nothing happens we can adopt, there's kids that are in need of a good home, we'll have tons running around." Hank chuckled as Melody giggled and nuzzles him, a few minutes later they arrive at the station Olivia and Fin are there waiting. Hank and Melody get out of the truck and walk over, "Good to see you again Hank" Olivia said "good to see you too" Hank replied to Olivia, "How's it going?  Fin asked "Not to good, the case is, well I'm glad you're here" Hank tells fin as Melody stands next to Hank "Who's the new girl?' Olivia asked "This is Detective Melody Knight" Hank said with a smile. "And his girlfriend" she said pointing at Hank "Nice to meet you, Melody" Fin held his hand out to her's to shake "It's nice to meet you too" she said as she shook Fin's hand "Well, it's nice to meet you Melody, I'm Detective Olivia Benson and this is Fin Tutuola." Olivia said "Nice to meet you Detective Benson" Melody said "Please, call me Olivia," she said "no problem Olivia' Melody said as Fin looks at Hank "You gotta girlfriend?" Fin asked "Yeah,  we've been together for a while, she's special" Hank wraps his arm around Melody's waist as she quickly kisses his cheek "I'm glad you got back in the dating game, you deserve happiness more than anyone especially after what happened to Justin" Olivia said as Melody looked at Hank and rubbed his back "We don't talk about what happened it's still a fresh wound" Melody said "I'm sorry" Olivia said but Hank knows she's right. "So the case, there's files waiting for you upstairs," Hank said as he broke the silence and awkwardness in the air between Olivia and Melody as she goes inside, Hank followed her as Olivia and Fin gave each other strange looks then followed as well to the team who's waiting for them. Melody sits next to Al as he pats her back knowing this is a tough case for her since she was once a mother, "so what do we know about the suspect?" Hank asked Antonio who was handing out files to Olivia and Fin "he's not in the right state of mind because no one in their right mind is this stupid" Antonio said "He's a Colombian male, around 5'8, 130 lb he came here from Colombia after he got in some trouble with the Carter for raping the boss's daughter" Melody said "Do we know his last know address?" Hank asked "No we do not know his latest address" Melody replied "Is he here legally? If not he could have skipped the country by now" Finn wondered. "He is but after we found out what happened we gave his picture to every cop, airport, bus and train station in Chicago and set up alerts" Melody replied "Alright, I was APB on him, I want this guy found now" Hank said "We'll talk to some informants to see if they've seen him around." Adam and Kevin said "ok, let's get this guy and some justice" Hank, Melody and everyone in that room meant what he by justice, but Olivia wasn't going to have that kind of justice on her case. "But he's not in trouble with just the Cartel, he's also in trouble with the mafia for the exact same thing, he would lure the young daughters of the bosses where there's no cameras and so no one could see them and rape them. Now one mobster named Zachariah found out what happened and is more than willing to come with his eight year old daughter and have her tell us what happened, but the girl only speaks Italian which is where I come in, everyone in here knows about my background my father was Italian so I'm fluent in Italian so I'll be speaking to the girl" Melody said "Are you sure you're up for that Mel?" Hank asked "I'm sure I can do it Hank" she said softly "Then I say we should get there's Mafia and cartel guys to help us out, It'll save us time and man power, on top of that we'll catch the guy faster." Antonio suggested, "Antonio's right, now while we're on the topic of mafia and cartel Olive and Fin you might wanna brace yourselves for what I'm about to say" Melody said. "Hank, why did she say that?" Olivia asked nervously but Finn was chill "Just listen, she knows what she's talking about," Hank nodded to Melody to continue "Olivia and Finn, have you ever heard of a mobster named James Knight?" She asked "Yeah, I remember him he was the most wanted mobster in New York remember Finn?" Olivia asked Finn "Yeah, I was on one of his cases back in the day, what does he have to do with this case though?" Finn asked Melody "Well, I'm his...daughter" she replied as Olivia and Finn looked at each other than Hank "He already knows about it, hell I saved his life on my first day." Melody said, "I didn't know he had a daughter" Finn said confused "There were multiple reasons why he didn't even bring me up" She as "I see that with his lifestyle and connections" Finn said "That and he abused me" the entire intelligence unit goes quiet as everyone looks at her, Melody starts having flashbacks of the abuse her dad put her through as she gets up and runs off with Hank and Finn close behind her as she goes into the hallway about to have a meltdown. A few minutes later she goes in the locker room and sits on the bench when she suddenly starts smashing her head against the wall as Hank and Finn walk in, the third or fourth time she smashes her head against the wall a large spot of blood forms on the wall as she starts saying 'stop it' over and over again, Finn runs as he puts his forearm between the wall and Melody's forehead as Hank grabs her arms and pulls her away from the wall until their in the middle of the room. Melody starts kicking and screaming as Hank sits in the middle of the room and holds Melody close with his arms and legs around her as he puts her head on his chest with her ear over his heartbeat and despite struggling to hold her Hank's heartbeat is very soft, calm, steady and gentle. Hank nodded to Finn to get a dr as he squeezed Melody tightly "Shh, everything's going to be ok, you're not back there the abuse is over, I promise you're safe with me and I'm not going to let anyone hurt you ever again" Hank rocked her back and forth as she sobbed into his chest while clinging to him like her life depends on him "I saw him, I saw my dad and what he did to me, even the thing I buried all those years ago" she said through broken sobs "It's ok, I'm here and we'll make those memories go away so we can make happy ones" Hank said as he rubbed her back "Finn what happened?" Olivia asked Finn, "we need a doctor, just get a doctor uo here now."  Finm yelled at everyone standing around as Adam picked up the phone and called for an ambulance as Melody continues crying and clinging to Hank "Finn what's going on? What happened in the locker room?" Olivia asked again "She's having a ptsd attack, she smashed her head against the wall and now her head's split open. Hank's trying to calm her down until the doctor can see her," Finn said calmly to Olivia trying not to make a big scene for Melody "Oh god, do you think she reminded something she was trying to forget?" Olivia asked Finn. "That's what I'm guessing, we might have stirred up something that everyone was trying to forget" Finn sighed "Finn, I want you to call Amanda and tell her to search the old files and see if Melody ever came to Special Victims in the past, I think there's more going on than her father beating her" Olivia said just as the emts came running upstairs "Their in the locker room" Finn told them, they go in the locker room and try to take Melody off Hank but she has a complete and totally meltdown as she continues to cling to Hank and kicks one of the emts in the chest putting him on his back "Just leave her alone, I'll take her!" Hank yells at them as he picks her up bridal style and starts walking through the squad room, down to the stairs and into the waiting ambulance because he wasn't going to let anyone hurt her or take her from him as she continues clinging to him as she EMTs get in and start treating her wound which is just a really bad flesh wound but she doesn't need stitches.
~meanwhile inside~
Finn looks at Olivia "will do" he gets on the phone with Amanda as he ask for any files on Melody Knight, a moment later his jaw drops as he hangs up "Melody has a few files in svu, you worked one of her cases, she was five when her first case came in. Her school called and reported: Suspicious bruising, weird behavior, not wanting people to touch her. Amanda is going to email the file to you" Finn said "Yeah I remember, and when she was going to testify she dropped the charges against her dad, and you said you would murder him in so many ways that Hank Voight wouldn't be able to top it." Olivia said Once the emt is done patching up Melody's forehead ge leaves her and Hank "Five families" she said but it's muffled since her face is in Hank's chest but he understands what she said "Five families?" Hank asked as she nodded her head, he picks her up bridal style and goes back inside holding her  "Mafia family" Hank told Olivia and Finn what Melody said "wasn't Melody's father associated with the five families, or if I'm correct the boss of the five families?" Olivia asked Finn "Yeah, he was that's why no one could touch him and if they did there were never seen or heard from again. That's why Melody recanted her story, she was afraid everyone that the families hurt didn't testify" Hank said "My dad was know as Capo dei tutti capi" Melody said as Hank, Olivia and Finn looked at each other because they know Capo dei tutti capi means 'Boss of all bosses.' "And some of the the five families are around in New York and Chicago, so if she testifies even now she's in trouble" Olivia said worried "no, she's not testifying against them, her life will be in danger and no one can do anything about it." Hank said as he shook his head "but maybe without them knowing she could bring them down, they still think she's dead" Olivia said "she's right, because believe it or not after my dad died his mafia went to me, so now I'm the Capo dei tutti capi." Melody said as everyone in the intelligence unit looks at her, "you want her going back into the Mafia scene? Ic they know she's working for us, she'll have the biggest target on her head. Do you really want to put her in that situation?" Hank asked as he glared at Olivia, he was just looking out for Melody because he doesn't her hurt or to end up dead because he couldn't keep her safe. "I'm not suggesting that, I may not know her but I would never put her in that in that kind of danger" Olivia said "that's right, you don't know her. She maybe just a case to you but she means more than just that and I'm not leaving her do this so you better find another way" Hank said as he stood up and got in Olivia's face as Finn got in-between them "We'll find another way with everyone's help and a way that'll keep us all safe" Finm said trying to defuse the situation before someone slapped as Melody paces back and forth while speaking in Italian. "See? Now you broke her" Hank huffed, "Will you shut up for a minute? I'm thinking" Melody snapped as Hank stepped back with his hands up in defense "Wow" is all Olivia can say as Finn holds back his laughter "Hank, do you remember the day I saved your life and how much of a sharp shooter I am?" Melody asked "You're great, the best I've ever seen. But these guys are professionals, they kill for a living and don't care who they kill because they have no sympathy, it doesn't matter who you're related to" Hank tried to explain but he knows how hardheaded Melody is, but he wouldn't trade her for the world. "I can take them out" she said "and get yourself hurt worse in the process? Out of the question before I'm trying to protect you" Hank said trying to stay calm "I know mi amor, but you have to trust me" Melody said trying to calm him "I do trust you but I have a bad feeling about this, it feels like you're being set up for something." Hank said "I trust you" Melody said softly "But now you're mad, so you know what? Don't listen to me and do what you want because I know you and you're going to do what you want to anyways" Hank snarl "I said I trusted you Hank Voight" Melody said stepping back as the rest of the unit just nods their heads as Hank sighs "you say you trust me and I believe you, I know how much you want to get these guys" Hank said as he put his hand on her cheek. "Because they killed my sister!" She covers her mouth because never told Hank she had a sister "you don't have a sister, do you?" Hank went completely confused, if she never mentioned having a sister what else was she not telling him? Hank looked at Olivia and Finn who were starting to get nervous like they know something as Hank eyed them "What the hell? You two knew this? It wasn't in her files" Hank said "it's wasn't an svu case it was a homicide case" Olivia explained "I didn't know had a homicide case, I looked up everything I could on Melody" Hank said trying to keep his cool "Hank, I think all four of us need to talk in private" Olivia said as Melody looks at the floor while tears fill her eyes as she walked to Hank's office with Finn walking next to her "He's gonna leave me Finn" she looks at Finn with tear filled eyes "Isn't he?" Finn just puts his arm around her shoulders trying to comfort her and keep her from having another meltdown
