Hank and Melody ride down the quiet  streets listing to their favorite country music as melody sings to her favorite songs making hank smile "hey hun do you know the apartment complex going Southbound 10 blocks from the station?" Melody asked as Hank turns down the radio "Yeah, what about it?" he asked curiously "at the apartment complex I live in 279 bucks a month would be 380 a month but the owner respect cops and military personnel because he's a retired cop"  Melody explains " that's pretty good for Chicago, but what are you getting at? Forgot something there on accident?" hank asked "yeah, I forgot to important paperwork from when I was in New Orleans intelligence and when I was in the military if that got onto the wrong hand Id be doomed" she said after a few minutes they pulled the apartment complex "I'll be right back" Melody guitar the truck, starts the timer on her watch, runs into the apartment complex up, eight flight of stairs and gets to her room. She unlocked the door as she puts on latex gloves so she doesn't contaminate the crime scene. she goes into her bedroom a moves a large dresser, so the front of it is facing the wall and there is a false back in the dresser, she takes up the folks back revealing a large safe, she puts in the code and takes out a bunch of paperwork in a briefcase, she put out the important paperwork into the briefcase and opens up the safe showing over $875,175,763,457 in cash, she puts the money into the briefcase as well as the files. she goes to the safe to make sure that she has everything and that nothing can go into the wrong hands. once she's sure she has everything she closed the safe, but the false back onto the dresser then puts it back against the wall, she looks around the room looking for important documents as well just to be on the safe side.  when she's completely confident she has everything she make sure the briefcase is completely closed, she runs back down the stairs to the truck, put the briefcase in the backseat, gets in the truck and turns off the timer. "1 minute 39 seconds" Melody said that she tried to catch her breath and Hank realizes that's why she's so fit, after a few minutes she starts having a coughing fit as she puts her hand over her mouth and continues coughing, after few minutes it stopped since you moved her hand and there's blood. "I think I overdid it," she said looking at hank She lays back in the seat and sighs, a second layer both their radios go off about a robbery in progress 3 minutes away from where they are "Let's go" Melody goes to jumps out of the truck but Hank grabs her arm "Mi amo, I'm fine, I promise," she said softly "Hon, what's wrong?" she asked worried, "I think you, need to be checked out maybe the wreck did something, because you were just coughing up blood, it could internal. you need to see doctor, they have ave to take care of this let me take you to the hospital" Hank looked at the cop car pulling up and the cops getting out "we need you healthy so please get back in the truck we're going to the hospital, and if your a good girl for the doctor we'll stop at the ice cream shop and have dessert" Hank smiled wildly with a chuckle but it was all his worry. "Hon, the dr said that it would happen for a couple of days and it's not from the bullets, I had an abscess in the back of my throat and during surgery, it ruptured, the doctor said my throat will be a little raw for few days and I will cough up a little blood here and there but it's nothing to worry about it was just for the abscess is healing, I had an abscess at the size of a quarter in the back of my throat and didn't even know it."Melody explained, "I didn't know what, why didn't you tell me that?" Hank asked with a confused look on his face "I just found out" she plays Hank the voicemail she got from the doctor "we're still going to the doctor, I don't trust a doctor that leaves voicemails" Hank side as he remembered his late wife with her cancer they got a phone call and it changed everything and he was just worried that this would be over and he would lose the one he loves most. "Hon, what's wrong?" she asked as she held his hand. "nothing, I'm just worried about you that's all," he said with, a smile "ok, fess up before I talk to Al," she said with a serious expression on her face "nothing just brought up some past memories but I'm okay," Hank said "are you sure you're okay?" she kisses cheek Softly "I feel perfectly fine I promise and when I promise something I never ever break that promise," she said softly "Ok" what side of bread she was holding I should put her hand on his bicep and her hand on his shoulder "since this is taking care of let's go home to be with our fur baby," Hank said, smiling "sounds perfect," she said, smiling, hank pulled out of the dive way as they contrite their drive "Hey hon, I have the key to the bar I was telling you about how about we go check it out to?" Melody asked "Let's go" he replied Hank starts going to the bar near the station that melody was talking about, when they get there the windows are boarded up. Melody gets out of the truck the pulls out a key, goes up to the front door, and unlocks it, as she does Rats the size of house cats come scurrying out "Jesus Christ our Lord and savior!" she yells as she jumps into the bed of the truck while Hank starts laughing "looks like we will have to call the Exterminator, think you can do that in the morning?" Melody asked and got out of the bed of the truck "Yeah because where there are rats there's gonna be roaches and worse" Hank said getting out of the truck as they go in, Melody flip the light switch at the lights turn on "well hey at least there's electricity" Hank says as Melody grabs a broom and starts sweeping as Hank grabs a rag and turns on the sink as water comes out "and there's running water" Melody said happily, hank finds a bottle of dish soap and puts it on the rag then starts cleaning the bar "Is till can't believe the lights and water are still on, this place had been closed for two years." Melody said "he probably knew you're going to take over soon," Hank said, as she contused to clean the counter as he watches the sink fill with water once it was half full and puts the glasses in the water and put soap in as well to let hem soak. "how can you go ahead throw away those liquor bottles? None of those is any good" melody said  "Sure" Hank said as he went out to the truck since he had a small box of garbage bags in the glove compartment as he grabs a few comes back in, put them in the garbage cans that are in the corners of the bar and one in the trash can behind the bar and starts throwing away the expired alcohol and booze. "I'm glad we decide to start cleaning a little bit now," Hank said ", Yeah, gives us less to do," Melody said, as she swept everything into a pile, onto a dustpan, and putting it in the trash as hank went into the supplies closet and found more cleaning stuff, "You think we can put the tables and chairs in the back of the truck so we can mop?" hank asked "go ahead," Melody said as she started sweeping behind the bar area and wiping down the shelves as Hank puts the table and chairs in the back of the truck and covers them with a tarp. Melody gets the mop and bucket, she fills the bucket halfway full with water and the rest with floor cleaner. She suddenly tips over the bucket and starts mopping the floor, Hank grabs the other mop and starts mopping too "So what are we gonna do with the tables and chairs Their falling apart" Melody said "I was gonna take them to the dump and get new ones if that's with you." hank said. "Go ahead, I'll see if I can find Some simpler to them," Melody said. "Ok," hank said, and a few  minutes later They're sitting on the bar waiting for the floor to dry "We got a lot did ta lot, wouldn't you say?" Melody asked "Indeed we did," hank said, agreement after a little bit the floor is completely dry as they get off the bar "you want to let the glasses soak overnight?" hank asked "Yeah, it won't hurt I'll rinse them off good when I come back, but for now let's go spend time with our fur baby," Melody said. After a few minutes their driving home "want to know what my old unit used to describe me as?" before he could answer the radio golf about a missing four year old four-year-old who was abducted his mother at Rodger Park as Hank a melody look at each other "that's two blocks from where we live" Melody said "Let's go" hank revved the truck and speeds off his mind racing because there's a single mom with a four-year-old boy that live beside him and he would say hello on his way to work to the child he was hoping it wasn't him. the suspect Ducks into an alley as Hank Slams on brakes stopping the truck as Melody jumps out and goes for both sprinting after him with Hank cook behind your but he can't keep up because she's six steps ahead. Hank yells at Melody "I'll cut him off" he runs in a different is he the suspect running he kicks it into gear and jumps on the suspect as he got closer to him bringing him to the ground Melody jump on top of the suspect  she started to arrest him but he was putting up a fight, she puts her gun to the back of his head "one wrong move in your brains are all over the ground!" the suspect stops moving as she starts to cuffs on him "where's the kid?" she said with a snarl "I ditched him" the suspect said with a laugh "oh you a think this is funny? oh you'll be laughing when I bust your mouth open with the butt of my guns" she said holding the barrel of he gun and raised it over her head as she hears a little one crying "Watch him" Melody said getting up and running over to the source of the crying and she finds the boy "It's ok, I gotcha" she picks him up as he clings to her while crying. "Shhh, there there its gonna be alright I've gotcha, I've gotcha" she jogs back over to where Hank is "Hank I got him" Hank punches a suspect in the mouth for the fifth time. "that's Tanner, my neighbor is he okay?" he asked out of breath "a little shaken but okay, right buddy?" she asked Tanner "Yes ma'am" tanner replied "we should get him to the cage and take tanner back to his mom, she must be worried sick" he pulled up the suspect a groan, he's not as young as he once was but he loves doing what he does. and a few moments later Tanner's mom's car pulls up as she gets out and gently takes Tanner from Melody.  "Thank you so much, I don't know what I would do without my boy thank you hank," she said crying, and hugged hank. "We're just doing our job" he smiled and wrapped his arm around Melody's waist giving her a kiss on the head "Great job out there today" Hank whispered in her ear "I already called Al to come and get our suspect," she said, "well let Antonio get a hold of him he'll beg to go to prison" hank chuckled if Melody giggle as Tanner's mom put him in the car and look up Melody with a bit of curiosity, "this is Melody, my partner and you'll be seeing a lot of her now and she'll even watch over Tanner as well" Hank reassured Tanner's mom as she looks at Melody then Hank as it clicks in her head "it's good to see you seeing someone again," she said as she smiles softly because she knows how Hard Hank took his wife's death "thanks, she good to me," he said smiling gently as melody kissed his cheek then looks at Tanner's mom "We should get together sometime," Melody says "Yeah. Have dinner Friday night good?" Hank asked Tanner's mom "Sounds good," she said as Al and Antonio pull up, Antonio gets out, grabs the suspect, and puts him in the backseat of the car, a few minutes later Melody and Hank get back in the truck the picture of Hank and a boy fall onto the floorboard she picks it up while hanging in the truck, "Hank, who's this boy?" She asked as she handed him the picture of him and Justin as the memory of Justin's death flashing his head. "That's Justin, my son he was murdered" Hank put the picture in his coat pocket and started the truck "Honey, I'm so so sorry," she said hugging him tightly "It's ok" Hank cleared his throat as tears started to surface "do you want to talk about it when we get home?" Melody asked softly "Nah it's all over and buried don't need to go dig up the past"  he sniffed. He deeply appreciated her concern but he didn't want to relive how Justin died and how he found him, he snapped out of his thought as Melody leans over and kisses his cheek "let's go home for a real this time I need a shower and some dinner" he said with a smile "you got heartburn pills? cuz you're going to need 'em"  she said giggling "all stocked up, you've never been on a steak out with Alvin he likes his spicy food" Hank laughed "well my mother knew a gumbo recipe that was so hot it damn well nearly killed her, you could have said the kick was right out of hell" Hank laughed while shaking his head "let's go to hell then, cuz I'm ready for some"  Melody starts  I think took her hand in his go anywhere with her as long as they were together "hey hun you want to know something?" She asked, "what's that?" He asked, "if the ties that bind ever do come loose I'll tie them in a knot like a hangman's noose cuz I'll go to heaven or I'll go to hell before I'll see you with someone else" she looks at him out of the corner for eye. "I'm not going anywhere so you don't have to worry about that" she smiles softly but there's a hint of psychopath in her eyes and tank sees it and watches it with caution.
