The Issue with Weddings

"Well where is Jaycee Jack? I thought she was attached to your hip since your birthday?"

"You mean like you and Luke? Pot meet kettle."

"That's different. I didn't even meet him until after you brought Jaycee on to YouTube to replace me."

"Gabrielle, that's not fair. You broke up with me remember? You pushed me away every single time I tried to get you back."

"You were still being an a$$hole Jack. By the time you finally started to straighten up you were with her. Then you brought her on to our channel."

"Gabrielle, it was my channel. You knew how much YouTube meant to me. You knew I liked making video's with someone else. You weren't there anymore. I am not sorry that I was just trying to move on like you wanted."

"You know that's not what I wanted."

"Well Gabrielle, after all the crap that was said about me that you seemed to agree with, what did you expect me to think?"

"Jack, I was hurting and upset. I am sorry I didn't always react well. How do you think I was feeling after..."

"Gabrielle, how do you think I was feeling. I went dark. I stayed off everything and people still took shots at me. They did it with your seeming approval. You wouldn't even talk to me. How do you think that made me feel? How can you be so upset that I decided to stop wallowing in the crap my life had become and move on? Did I say anything negative about you? Did I allow anyone to say anything negative about you? Did I say anything when you hooked up with Luke even though it was tearing me apart? In the end I wanted you to be happy. I also wanted to be happy again. You are the one who ended it. You kicked me to the curb. Why are you still so upset by me trying to be happy? Why are still so upset that I am trying to find love again?"

"Because it isn't with me!"

There was silence in the room. Gabrielle hand flew up to cover her mouth as if she couldn't believe what she just said. Her eyes were wide and tears started to gather at the corners. She looked devastated at her outburst.

Jack was just as stunned silent by her statement. They were almost nose to nose in the heat of their argument. He was staring at Gabrielle as he processed her statement. The whole last year seemed to fall away as he didn't see the Gabrielle he had watched her become from afar. He saw the Gabrielle he remembered from last year before their troubles started to spill over.

They stood in silence for a minute that stretch on an on. Finally Gabrielle looked down and spoke in a quiet voice.

"I'm sorry. I shouldn't have said that."

"I'm not."

Her head shot up to look in Jack's eyes which were so close to her own. He continued in his own quiet voice.

"I'm glad you did."

Gabrielle felt his arms go around her back and she surrendered to the feeling she had revealed in her heart. She threw her arms around his neck and pulled his lips down to hers. The kiss was desperate and filled with need. They lost themselves in their embrace for the first time in a year.

Here they were in a room well away from the wedding reception that they both happened to attend.

Here they were in a room they had went looking for so their fighting wouldn't interrupt the happy occasion.

Here they were in a room that they had walked into as they continued to fight about everything from the last year.

This was the room that Jules and Saud would finally find them in when they came looking a while later. This was the room they would find them laying together on the couch.

Their load exclamations would draw the attention of Bella who was heading back from the bathroom.

Julia's loud shout had stopped her from heading back toward the reception.

"Gabrielle?!? Jack!?!... What did you do? How could you?!?"

It was Saud's calmer statement that that provided enough context to interest Bella.

"Guys, before anything else, can you put your clothes back on please? We don't need to see you like this."

Bella walked over and in a quick glance took in the two people that had obviously just finish their activities a very short time ago, the clothes that were all over the floor, and the shocked looks on Jules and Saud. She took charge of the situation as she could see Gabrielle was trying to hide inside Jack's embrace. She pulled Jules and Saud out of the room and turned to shut the door.

"Let's give them a few minutes of privacy to get their clothes back on. We'll be out here waiting."

Once the door was shut Gabrielle leaned back and looked at Jack. They both seemed to realize the situation they were now in. Jack couldn't help the words that slipped out.

"Well sh!t."

Gabrielle couldn't help it. She started giggling. That statement was just so Jack. Here they were, both having been just got caught naked. They were caught naked after cheating with each other. They were caught naked after having sex after almost causing a huge scene at Josh and Katie's wedding.

Jack managed to sum up the whole pile of crap they had just jumped into with those two words.

Jack looked down at a giggling Gabrielle and after a second couldn't help laughing himself. They had just got caught doing the one thing that they both were vehemently against. They had just done the biggest 'no no' to their current partners and they did it with each other.

"Gabrielle, we just..."

"Yes Jack, I know that. I am disgusted with myself, well both of us really."

"Me too. We really f*ched up this time."

"Yes we did. Luke and Jaycee are never going to forgive us and truthfully they shouldn't."

They both slowly got up and started gathering their clothes. Once they finished getting dressed they looked at each other.

"Are you ready to go out there?"

"We have too. I can't believe this happened."

Before they reached the door Jack turned and gave Gabrielle a passionate kiss. She wanted to push him away. She realized that this was compounding their mistake. But once she felt Jack's lips on hers she lost herself in the feeling it evoked. After a minute Jack pulled back but grabbed her hand in his.

"I know this makes me a bad person Gabrielle, but no matter what happens, I can't regret it."

"Yes it does Jack. But you know what, I can't regret it either."

"So what do we do Gabrielle? What are we now?"

Gabrielle squeezed his and as she answered.

"I don't know Jack. My mind keeps telling me how much of a mistake this is, but my heart... my heart is saying this is right. It's saying being with you again is right"

"I understand Gabrielle. My mind knows it is wrong, but I can't help that my feelings that are pulling me to you."

They turned and opened the door ready to face the music. Things would never be the same again
