The Issue with Weddings

The five of them had gone out to dinner and were eating when Jack's phone rang.

"Hey Bella... Wait give me second to find some place quieter. I can barely understand you..."

Jack got up motioning that he was going to run outside to hear and would be right back. It was ten minutes later that Gabrielle started to get a little worried. At fifteen minutes she decided it was time to go look for him. So she got up and followed in his direction.

When she got outside she found Jack leaning against the wall with his eyes closed breathing deeply. Gabrielle knew at that moment that something was wrong. She approached him slowly and took his hand in hers.

"How bad?"

"On a scale of one to ten? Twelve."

"What happened?"

"We just got burned."

"Burned?"

"Burned. It seems that a certain YouTuber that you collaborated with while we were apart decided to make a video putting us in the worst possible light."

"Not..."

"Yup, him. I watched it. It's bad."

"We did like two videos. We worked together for like one day. How..."

"Because he got comments from several YouTube couples over FaceTime to go along with statements from a couple of our old friends saying how wrong we were for each other. He got them to say how horrible we treated each other and how we were better off apart... That was lighter side of his video."

Gabrielle's free hand went to her mouth

"No..."

"He got two of your sorority friends, Allie and Samantha, to absolutely tear me apart along with your brother. Then he got Karen and my sister to tear into you. Those weren't comments that were just made. He recorded them flat out attacking each of us."

Jack reached out and pulled Gabrielle in, holding her tightly against him.

"It is a full on hit job Gabrielle. He wasn't trying to expose any truth like he said. He was looking to smear us into oblivion. He was looking for views and controversy off of our life."

Gabrielle was lightly crying against Jack. She couldn't believe that someone would do that.

"But not Jaycee or Luke? They didn't say anything?"

"Well he said he tried to talk to them and they both refused."

"Which couples Jack?"

"Mainly? Katie and Maddie with a little Emily thrown in . Although in Emily's defense, you could see that her comments were cutoff and edited. I have never met Maddie, so why she thought she should talk about us makes no sense to me. The others were people that I don't think even know us. "

"But why would people that don't know us say things about our relationship?"

"I don't know sweetheart. Maybe they wanted to be on his video for his 12 million subs to see them. Maybe they wanted us knocked out so it was less people to compete against. I don't know... But I will tell you this... If they think we are going to fade into the sunset they are greatly mistaken. I am not going to stay silent when they are attacking my marriage and my wife."

Gabrielle pulled back and looked up at Jack.

"So what do we do?"

"I don't know yet. We will have to think about it. Honestly do you know what hurts the most? It's that my sister and your brother agreed to do that to us. I couldn't care less about the rest, well other then the fact that they were bad mouthing you."
